(I also posted this at npha so, yes its a cross post, for those who may or may not whine about it.)

I see these are available again..anyone use these? I think Id like to buy a few boxes to try. I like to use the shotgun on bobcats and the price of these shells seem sort of reasonable for lead free/heavier than lead loads?
The predator version is B shot.

CROSS POSTING !

Worse than Dan, (the man) making fun of the HM campout!

Nah, just kidding. Company policy here is BFD.

So, just for the heck of it, what's your preferred load on cats?

I have used the Federal 3" 2 ounce BB's which seems to drop them rather decisively, and occasionally beyond the politically correct 40 yards....(edit: if I do my part) but I do not have vast numbers to base that on.

Kind of an interesting question, nonetheless.

Good hunting. El Bee

PS oh, it just sunk in about the operative adjective: non lead.
Fuck 'em!

Yeah, lead free...limits the shite out of things that are "affordable" to the average guy.

Talking 3" 12 gauge...I have tons of copper plated BB and #4 buck. Aint used em in years though. I have been shooting the DC loads and Remington HD. The Rem is discontinued and DC is just expensive enough I aint paying for it, so looking for alternatives.

Not a big coyote shotgunner anymore really, but I do like it for cats and grey fox.

I don't know about Winchesters Hi Density shot, but I did look at the Heavyweight shot Federal uses in these:

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/610636/federal-premium-v-shok-heavyweight-coyote-ammunition-12-gauge-3-1-1-2-oz-bb-shot-box-of-5

After looking into Federals heavyweight shot, I found out that means it is heavier than steel but it is still lighter than lead. As I recall, lead is the heaviest metal around. I shoot a bennelli and I was having trouble getting a decent pattern. Once I tried these I'm hooked on them. The trick is to use cylinder or improve cylinder. Too much choke screws up the wad.

Yes, everyone complains about the Flite control wad in those. Its makes it hard to pattern unless your choked right.

Dang, who can afford to "pattern" these pricy shells?

The owner of my favorite gun shop saw a 40 yard demo shooting these with a cylinder choke. It grouped about 14 inches. I bought a box and tried them with the same choke and it worked. It took less than two shots to see how well they grouped. I added a bushnell speed bead site because I didn't like where they hit and it took two more boxes to get it perfect. I won't use that many hunting.
