Forty-seven years ago, tonight, we moved into what was then a brand new home. It was particularly cold that night and we had some trouble getting the utilities turned on, holiday and all.
I guess, thinking about the fact that the property value has increased twenty times the original selling price; it has to be the best investment I ever made? No thanks to me really. It was Nanc that insisted we needed a bigger house.
Time sure flies!

Good morning and hope it's a great start to the new year to come.
Cold night 6* so far this morning.
Up at 0200 to get the fire going dang it was getting cold.
Shut the window down more too.

Fireworks woke me up at midnight, lasted about eight minutes. Tillie requested a patrol of the perimeter, came back, nothing to report, whatever was causing the commotion was gone, go back to bed! Weird!

This is my 6th new years @ this place never heard new years fireworks until last night ?
Many were probably a 1/2 mile or so away, but still. Wife said everyone is sick of 2020 and whooped it up ?

We bought this place 8 years ago and this is our 7th winter living here.
Didn't hear a thing the other night. I think it was too cold and no one wanted to be out in it.
We went to bed our usual time. Then we seem be up and down all night either the bathroom runs or the stoke the fire.
