I saw it somewhere on the net somebody raving about it didn't give it much thought. Looks like a good lubricant.it certainly held up better than the competition.

Would like to see the test again using some of the leading gun lubes..

How many guys actually shoot a gun with a coating of grease in the barrel??? I sure as hell don't, and also when in the military it was required to have a clean dry barrel....

I notice that they didn't go up against the greatest lube of all time; Marvel's Mystery Oil. [Cool]

A complete line of BS. IF it lubricated the barrel it would LOWER velocity, like moly does.

Fault number 2, what do suppose that thick crap would turn to in the cold. Very few lubricants don't gum up when cold. The One we use for aerial hunting is Ballistol. It won't gum at 0 degrees and out a plane window going 60 mph. Most of the other highly touted lubes won't work.

But it is still an option.

After cleaning I run 1 patch of oil down the pipe and not again till the next cleaning. Am I supposed to be lubing the barrel regularly.Might be good for some of the moving parts in my ar.

I'm on board with Ballistol as well..About the only thing I don't do with it is drink it-yet think some do-or at least use it as medicine.

When I had my AR I lubed all the moving parts, rails with FP-10. As for my bolt guns the only place I put any grease is behind the locking lugs and I use Pro-shot gold lubricant for this.

I don't want oil in the bore of my guns. Oil goes on the moving parts, and the grooves which the bolt or slide rides in. I am not particular as to the brand of oil, just so long as it is thin. At one time I had a can of military machine gun oil but have lost it somehow. I have even used sewing machine oil a few times. My guns don't seem to mind, just as long as it is slick. [Big Grin]

I am not buying into the claims that lubing your barrel will increase velocity either.

Also, it looks fairly viscous, so I am thinking it will gum up whrn the gun gets dirty or cold. Why didn't they test the oil with guns and say, 1000 rounds fired?

That having been said, I like the add with the gangster shooting while holding a Tommy gun. [Big Grin]

I'm not a `gun guy` by any means. More of a 100 yd, put the rifle on the sticks & the crosshairs on the shoulder. Squeeze the trigger & sharpen the skinning knife.

But.......if the barrel were to be lubed with oil, wouldn't the burnt residue need to be cleaned out after every shot and exactly the same amount of lube reapplied to shoot groups???? [Confused]

The problem here, which seems obvious, is applying this product to a bore. Okay, many people run a thin oil in their bore before storage, but when shooting, I personally prefer a squeaky clean bore, or a (one shot) fouled bore.

If they are proposing that we use this stuff and it's going to stay in the bore after firing a loaded magazine, then forget about the rigged machine and show us evidence that Italian Gun Grease is still in the bore after multiple bullets have passed through it.

Good hunting. El Bee

If the stuff can handle the temps from firing a round it may help to keep the carbon from building up or sticking between the lands or then again it may just add to it...
I know my gunsmith who also shoots BR matches runs a few patches with windex on them down the barrel after cleaning with a solvent.
