The Missouri river has already flooded a lot of folks both north and south of me. If our levee holds, we will be OK, but if it breaks we will be forced to evacuate. Once we evacuate, what flood waters don't take, the looters will. If I suddenly disapear from the board, it means I am homeless. The Government had to know about all of that snow in the mountains. If they had opened the flood gates of those three dams in April, we wouldn't be talking floods right now.

Cayotaytalker ,

Yes, I have a lot of stuff loaded in my truck already. I agree that looters should be shot, but around here the Judge would probably put on his rasberry lipstick before he kisses them.

I hope you turn out alright and those levies hold. Just don't send that water downstream too fast. St. Louis could turn into a lake too. We have three rivers flooding.

Good luck, Cronk. The amount of water coming off this winter's snows is incredible.

Good luck and I hope for the best.

Now...on the looters...

I know a few people in the Joplin area and despite what we were told on the evening news, looting's been a big problem there too.

But...I'm told, when they're caught by civilians...it ain't purdy. (Rightfully so)

One guy, got the shit beat out of him...stripped down...tied to a tree with "looter" spray painted on him!

Another story is of a guy who had both of his arms broken. The cops picked him up after the beating...then dropped his ass off outside of town. (I say "story" with that one, because it was hearsay.)

Not a "story"...Good friend of mine's family was buried in their basement...They dug themselves out to (naturally) find the house destroyed, but his motorcycle was sitting in the garage virtually unscathed!

They went for help and what not, but when they came back the next day...the bike was gone.

I heard on the radio today that a Fire chief somewhere was on administrative leave and several of his firefighters were fired, pending charges that they were found to have been looting in Joplin after the tornado when they went there to assist. That should carry extra punishments. When we entered Chapman, KS, following their tornado, everyone was given clear and firm rules on what we were to do if we came across any personal property of value. The crew I was with never did, but I was keeping an eye out just in case. Anytime you move 1400 volunteers into a town that only had 1000 people in it to begin with, there's always the possibility. Take anything you can't replace with you, and the stuff you need now, just to be safe.

'.............with "Looter" spray painted on him.

Mayhap, they should have carved 'looter' into the turd's forehead with a skinning knife instead.

JD and Smithers,
I am just an OLD codger now. Six years ago, I retired from the martial arts because I was getting short winded. Quadruple bypass surgery was performed shortly after that. I was taking a Japaneze style of karate at the time.

That's why I said a small tidal wave couldn't topple ya. You'd kick it's hind end. Chuck Norris style.

Congrats Rich! "Sho-Dan"

Hand and Fist... you have the upper build for that and it certainly does teach balance and age disciplines. Those fancy kick style sporting kata's don't work in a street fight! Keeping it low and within reach is another thing altogether! [Big Grin]

Hey, how about the professor versus Cronk, just for fun? I could work Higgins corner and sneak some cayenne in his jockstrap, just to give him something to worry about.

When it comes to the scumbags who loot during events like floods, I'd bet on Rich to kick any of their asses, and do it quick.

Rich,

I kind of suspected that already!

I'd rather put someone down with a throw and then kick the shit out of them than try throwing a roundhouse that might get me put on my back getting the shit kicked out of me!!! LOL
