Paul, the easiest way to get it out is to go to the sportsman's warehouse and pick up another set.

LOL Yep, that's one way Clint. I recently stuck a case in my Lee dies. Took a chance and mailed it to Lee with a note and my return address inside. Wasn't sure if I'd see it again or not. Got it back in really quick fashion with no note, no questions asked, no problems. It was great. Obviously, I wasn't in a hurry. [ July 11, 2008, 07:55 AM: Message edited by: Joel Hughes ]

It pains me to admit this, handloading for 43 years, thus far......
I have a case stuck in my ancient Texan 6mm sizing die. It has been there for somewhere between 6 months and a year? I have tried every solution known to man, short of melting the brass, to no avail. Okay, so I actually have a RCBS neck sizing die, and can get around this embarassment for a long time, but I really think Clint has the best solution. But, buy Redding this time.
Good luck, LB
edit: sudden thought: it would help greatly ifyou have a good idea why this case got stuck. The usual reason is improper case lube, but it can also be caused by improper die adjustment, or a illfitting shellholder or a case rim that has been shaved too much by a Mauser type extractor, to mention the most common. Failure to properly trim to length is another cause. Military brass with excessively thick necks with heavy corrosion on the inside, stuff like that. Once fired, trimmed winchester brass, as I lifted the handle the case popped out of the shell holder and left a little brass ring about a 64th of an inch rolling arond on the floor. I usually lube the die every 20 or so after I lube all the cases prior to starting. Oh well live and learn.Im just glad Im not the only one thats had this problem I just couldnt stand the humiliation.

stuck a 204 case.....did the Clint deal....20 cases later stuck another case....I was PISSED...drove to town again and got the stuck case remover kit and salvaged both sizing dies.
My problem was the shell holder...got another one and have not stuck another case yet, but I have the kit ready in case I do. [ July 11, 2008, 11:07 AM: Message edited by: Kelly Jackson ]

Paul yes it was an RCBS and I replaced it with the same. I didn't measure it, but it could have been out of spec. I now use the "bad" shell holder in my hand primer with no issues.

Probably 90% of the many cases that I've got stuck, are from .223 ( NEVER pick up .223 brass found at a range )
Stuck case removers are great! But I still end up buying a new .223 die every couple of years ![[Frown]](frown.gif)
