I have some once fired cases that are not brass , they look almost like aluminum with some sort of oxide coating they are green and some are gray. are these good to reload and if so how should I treat them and what should I watch for.
if not I'll toss em just dont want to waste them if they are useful.
thanks

Hey Paul, how ya been. That is most likely Blazer ammo. They are berdan primed and will break of you primer punch if you run them through your die. Fire one of them and look inside. It will most likely have two offsetting flash holes. Beside the fact, they are aluminum and not meant to be reused. Fire them and toss the hulls.

Yeah, Randy's right. If you are talking about handgun it's probably Blazer ammo by Speer? Could be steel cases from Russia, Wolf(?)or some eastern European country if you have rifle ammunition?

In either case, don't bother messing with it. Regardless of what you have heard or how cool that shiny nickle brass looks, just plain brass cases are the best for handloading.

Good hunting. LB

They are from some old wolf ammo, they are boxer primed I checked that first, I will toss em only have a few anyway thanks for the info.I was more concerned about them damaging my dies with that coating.Or shortening the life of the cleaning media or leaving some kind of harmful residue.

Thanks again
