They aren't exactly flying off the shelves - and they seem to be fair traded with dealer pricing by Beretta and no wholesalers handling them.
What would you expect to pay for a Gray Wolf or one of their laminated stainless varmint rifles?
I thought retail - 40% = wholesale?
And maybe cost + 10 or 15% was a pretty good deal. Help me out here. [ December 11, 2007, 11:10 AM: Message edited by: Nahuatl ]

The gun shops I've talked with always claim they make exactly 10% on new gun sales. They actually do better on thier used selections. [ December 11, 2007, 02:13 PM: Message edited by: skoal ]

The cheapest I've seen them was around $1300 but it's been awhile. I bought a MOD 75 Finnlight for under $1200 and a buddy bought 2 MOD 85 Finnlights for $13something each. Mine came with rings, he had to buy rings seperate. They won't be getting any cheaper that's for sure.
edit to add; all three of these finnlights were WSM rounds (270 and 300) the standard versions were just under $1000 [ December 11, 2007, 09:00 PM: Message edited by: TOM64 ]

I was looking at a Kimber Montana and read from several sources that the QC was hit or miss. I passed and went with a known product, the Sako.

Well I found a year old Mod. 75 NIB VLSF set trigger .243 for less than current dealer cost. The new model 85 only comes in .223 and .25-06. They don't make a -250 or .243 yet. It worried me that it was out-of-state, internet, price too good to be true etc., and in a hurry to sell. But the guy offered to send me the rifle first for inspection without plunking down a dime and including ID and his purchase receipt. Wow. I think this one's for real. Merry Xmas!
List was $1800. http://www.sako.fi/oldmodels_75_varmintlaminated.php?m=7 [ December 13, 2007, 06:45 PM: Message edited by: Nahuatl ]

Just so you have a price comparison, I bought a mint lightly used Sako 75 with rings in .338 winmag, stainless, synthetic for around $850.00 from my favorite gun/pawn shop, I saw the same rifle new at Sportsmans for $1100. I say around $850 because I bought my .204 model 12 savage and the sako at the same time for $1050.00 package. I would guess the Savage is close to $300 used.
Oh, I absolutely love the Sako action.

I like the 75's stock design more than the 85's, but that's just me. I sold a used 75 hunter in 223 last year to a guy for $800. Kind of wished I had kept it. But I used the $800 to have two new Shilen barrels put on a couple of rifles. Both of them shoot better than the Sako anyway. So I'm happy.
I think those 85's are going for about $1400 around here. Kimbers are about $1000. I've also heard of many QC issued with the Kimber rifles.
