Had ASI build a custom mini-14 in the Ruger 204. It has a 3/4 inch match grade barrel that produced a .43 inch 3 shot group at 100 yards with factor ammo. Wanted an auto for fastest possible follow up shots, for possible multiples. My wifes family loses a lot of lambs and calves to coyotes each season. I placed a shepard scope on it, don't how good that'll work?
They did a lot of work to it. Nothing was left undone (I don't think). The gun is solid. They bolted the action into the Bell and Carlson graphite stock. Pretty trick set up and very clean work. Hope it stands the test of time. (Time will tell, it always does.) I paid enough for the thing. Wanted an AR, but their not CA legal with the removable mag's. (Although just heard of guy who mounted a set bolt in the mag well as the mag release and got it approved.
I would show pics of the mini, but not savvy on the how-to, on that one yet.

Sounds like a nice rifle. I've never owned a Ruger mini 14 or the likes. Kind of been an AR15 builder with one chambered in 223, 17 Rem, and a 6x45. My 6x45 is probably the most fun of the group.
Been thinking of a 204 AR build too.
CA is such a beautiful state. I lived out there for a couple of years working for Uncle Sam, back in the early 80's. Too bad it has to have so many phucked up laws and liberals. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Calif. would be paradise to live in if.......
(1) About 125 million people would move to Seattle
and
(2) I could pick the ones to move. "Not an NRA member?? Hmmmmmm?..OUT!!"

"Had ASI build a custom mini-14 in the Ruger 204. It has a 3/4 inch match grade barrel" ------------------------------ a 3/4" barrel? Sounds a bit short for good velocity. That ain't right-------------Lord, forgive me for that right there and please be with the starving pygmies down there in Africa--Amen ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
