Does anyone know when Ruger changed from Red butt pads to Black ?? Also if any of the Ultra light stocks were made without the black tip forearms ?

They sure did! That fact had escaped me, but I have a couple of each, and I have no idea when it occured?

Good hunting. LB

I thought the change coincided with the introduction of the M77 Mark II in 1992.
I have an 87 vintage tang safety model that still has the red pad.
