Well as of monday "ALL" my guns won't be sporterweight's bought an xr.I thought it had alot of neat stuff for the price $695,boyds stock,xb type trigger, short short action, single shot,etc.. It'll be my future ppc or br cartridge gun. Oh yeah it's a 22-250. I've got 900 rnds.of ammo--white box 45 gr winchester-- left over from an exaggerated praire dog hunt.Who knows maybe they'll shoot.
Anybody have one of these xr guns?---ME

Sporterweight, Is the XR100 the bolt action handgun, or am I thinking of something different??

Kokopelli,
You are thinking of the XP100
The XR100 is a beautiful long gun

I got the XR 100 yesterday its real nice, great wood to metal fit, barrel sits right in the middle of barrel channel. One turn of a screw [external] and the trigger is very light -no noticable creep. If it shoots like it looks and feels i'll be happy for sure.ME

What do you have planned for glass? A Loopy VX111 6.5-20 x 40mm LR would sure top it up nicely. Mike

Dogleg, I have a nikon monarch 5.5 x16.5 44mm on it and a set of burris signature rings- waiting.I didn't realise it took a model 7 base so it has an old redfield 1 piece base with warne rings.I'll get a burris model 7 when i get back from a hunt next week. I'm not as big a leupold fan as i once was, they are a fine scope for sure but the nikon will do for now. Also not a big nikon fan,the zeiss on my cz 221 fireball a 4.5 x14 44mm w/side focus has spoiled me something awful.. I'll start some load development real soon with the fireformed winchester brass. It'll probably shoot as good as i can shoot.--ME

Sporterweight, My Zeiss experience (Ownership)is limited to one Conquest 3-9 and a set of 8x56mm Dialyt binos. Impressive glass for sure, but I need more time to develope the trust that I have for my Leupolds.I am also a fan of side focus AO. I just may have to get a XR100, the more I look at that picture, the more convinced I am. ![[Wink]](wink.gif) [ September 28, 2005, 08:38 PM: Message edited by: Dogleg ]
