DAA has named a new chamber. The latest VHA mag has the details.
I like it. Catchy, but true.

A lot of us don't subscribe to VHA. Someone tell us about Dave's article.

I believe Jack is talking about the .19 FBI (?)
There's an article by Dan C. about his .19 FBI.
Taken directly from the article (VHM #50):
"Oh, in case you're wondering just where the heck the name "FBI" came from, here's the story. I posted a picture on the Internet and called it the .19 Fireball Improved. My online buddy Dave Affleck (DAA)saw it and said, "Hmm, .19FBI huh?". I said, "Uh yeah, that's it!""
These articles are pretty troublesome...everytime I read one...its ends up costing me a chunk of money!
Keep it coming Dan!

Exactly. Dan Clements designed the cartridge, and wrote the article.
I just named it .
It's a .19 on the Fireball case, improved. Neat cartridge!
I think I'm more likely to build another one of Dan's creations first though, the .17 Predator. Although, I DO have a Fireball sitting in the safe that never gets used, sure would be an easy conversion, hmmmm....

I agree, it's a catchy label. I'm a little confused about the physical aspects. Is it just necked down, or shortened, or blown out, shoulder angle changed, what?
I have not kept current, are there different scources for bullets?
Good hunting. LB

Leonard, it's a necked down blown out Fireball. Basically, a .19AI (except it doesn't seem quite right putting P.O.'s name on something he never saw...). Hence the FBI - Fireball Improved.
Not sure who other than Calhoun is making .19 bullets. My most recent project is a .20 caliber, lot's of people making .20's now, including Hornady.

Thanks, Dave. That's about what I figured it would be. Logical.
Also, that's what I was thinking, that Calhoon sort of specialized in .19 caliber bullets?
I gotta do a project soon. I have been mulling over the atributes of a .19/223Calhoon. I assume the capacity would be substantially more than a .19FBI? However, the translation into FPS is what interests me, at this point.
Congrats. on being the Godfather; Christening this new child.
Good hunting LB
PS I don't get, and hardly ever read VHM. What's up with that? ![[Smile]](smile.gif)
