The inimitable Richard Cronk has passed away. Maybe many of you know this already. A colorful man to say the least. His wit and humour will be missed.

Wow. That's a sad deal. He kind of looked like he wasn't in the best of health. I liked him. He will be missed around here.

Anybody know of a link or something, what happened, etc?

Good hunting. El Bee

I will get the link to Rich's obituary. I understand he fell down and injured his shoulder. Went to the hospital and things went downhill from there. I believe underlying health problems also existed, but he would never say so.

I will be attending his funeral today. He was a close friend and will miss him dearly. We have called together and were always sharing knowledge. I have been to his house numerous times and visited with him there and on the phone as well. I have a bunch of his calls and still use them. Rich was a very generous person. I remember sitting down at the table and he would show me a new version of one of his calls and he would say that this is for you. He also gave my Grand kids calls. He was a great person to have download new sounds on my Foxpro.

I finally met The Cronkster a couple years ago when I attended the funeral of an old Army buddy, in Omaha. Rich lived just across the river in Council Bluffs. It was my pleasure to buy his lunch, and we visited for an afternoon. As usual, we talked about Board stuff, hunting, and his quarrels with the Professor.

Quite a loss personally, and for the community.

Good hunting. El Bee

Just heard from Al Prather expressing condolences.

Too bad "we" ran him off just because he's liberal.

I was just thinking, ol' Cronk and I have traveled a fairly parallel course.

He was born in '41 and I in '42, He graduated High School in 1958 and me in 1960.

Iowa for him and Minnesota for me. Not that far apart.

"Accomplished welder" also would apply to me, modesty aside.

And, he fell, hospitalized, and died.

You guys may remember, last year I fell while pruning my palm tree and broke 5 ribs. Hospitalized four and a half very painful days.

Maybe I'm too mean and ornery to die, or lucky, perhaps?

Well anyway, rest in peace, Rich.
