Death sneaks up on some I guess. I had a friend that rolled an ATV during deer season. He got bruised up and pretty sore but walked a way. Died a few days later, from a blood clot I was told. He was about 34 years old.

Richard was 18 just out of high school (1958) when my wife and I were born. we were both on the tit when his life as a young man was getting started. I knew he was a law man but not a welder. Death does come like a thief in the night.

Rest in Peace Rich Cronk!
Rich and I shared a hunt together and lots of discussions on making calls. I enjoyed our time together and considered him a friend. He will be missed by the coyote calling fraternity. I also enjoyed his posts on this forum. Prayers going out to Rich's family.

Rest in peace Cronk, I still have a couple of your calls including a horn and somewhere around here is a cassette tape to go with it.....that makes me chuckle. You'll be missed.

I didn't know him.. But it's pretty neat to have so many folks think so highly of him!

Just saw this and went and got my "Taylor Special" out of my bag after using it all weekend to clean it up. You can still see my name on it with "by Rich Cronk" under it. I'll miss my conversations with him and the sounds he shared.

Very sad indeed, I'm sorry to hear about Rich's passing. I have a handful of his white PVC style calls and his instructional cassette tapes. He made some great sounding, working calls for sure. I'll miss his emails and insight. Rest in peace Rich.

I'm very, very saddened by this news. Mr. Cronk and I had a pretty decent relationship; I had burned some of his cd's that he sent out with his calls and traded here and there for some calls. He even made me a Smithers Special call (a takeoff of the Taylor Special). He was a wiley old curmudgeon but damn I liked the guy a whole hell of a lot. RIP Mr. Cronk.
