The biggest disillusion might be that when the chips are down, Law Enforcement and Military will not pummel your ass and shoot you if they think you deserve it. These people are programed to obey orders and they get off on arresting people. You wanna make their day? Resist!

Hate to say it but don't expect any sympathy if you protest in place. Expect to get hammered.

Good hunting. El Bee

This county is just north of me 20 miles or so. Seems like a reasonable Sheriff.

I don’t know, Dave? He has some food mixed in with whiskers and you know how hard it is to judge a man’s honesty with half his face obscured.
(just kidding, he is quite a handsome fellow)
I wonder if he polishes that dome? What would you use, wax or Brylcream?

I'd kinda forgot about the cops and sheriff shooting that guy at the roadblock. That should be one of the things that Attorney General Barr should be investigating and BRINGING CHARGES! We can't forget that one, it was as rude as they get. It's a shame when they cover up and soft peddle these things, a goddamned execution, in broad daylight! Yeah, I remember now, somebody policing up the brass in the snow, and nobody knows where the shots came from. It's always the same; "Hey he's reaching for a gun, kill him!" Okay thanks, now I'm all worked up again!

Our county has follow the orders more or less. We've been getting a little hot under the collar when Blaine County has showed up to go fishing or buy our store out of TP and so forth. The opening of Steelhead we one camping area that looked like a travel trailer parking lot and a lot of out of state plates. No steelhead to speak of so they've all left.
Now that we've got through the first lock down things are reopening up and people are slowly trying to get on with their lives. Most are still staying the 6 feet apart or more.

Now in Gem county my husband was down there most of the time sheltered in place on a ranch north of town. He said Emmett never slowed down they are just going like nothing ever happened.

It's going to bust open in the rural areas big time as the temps warm and the snow melts. I've seen several out of state cars showing up to open their vacation houses and they are working on cleaning everything up. Don't know if they ran from their state to come and hide here or what? Don't know if they've sheltered in place here or not for the 14 days. No one is enforcing the rules on that one.
Our sheriff has asked that out of county people not to come up and hide out here and bring all their chit with them. Lemhi county has done the same thing.

When push comes to shove Ill go with a sheriff anytime over a city cop , city cops seem to have bully complex ! We have some awesome sheriffs in AZ. that wont follow directives to harm citizens ! They are actually a little militant in the other direction !

Yeah we've had Boise people come raid us also. The guy who owns the little store in town has been keeping a stash of TP in the back for locals.

That seems to be slowing down though. Things never really slowed down here either. I heard Boise was a ghost town for awhile ?

We had people with RV's go hide out in the hills for awhile the locals say. Their main complaint is some of them left beer cans and shit out there.

This whole thing is a joke...How and who is really going to enforce all this stuff anyway ?

Getting back to the shooting. If I had my way, none of those officers at that roadblock would again wear a gun on duty, maybe assigned to a desk or something? But, there we had a circular firing squad and a citizen was effectively murdered. The least we can do is throw that asshole FBI agent in prison for 5+20 years!

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: Just to add that since college days and I did a paper on certain police practices, I have been particularly focused and incensed by that little feature, or excuse that armed police use when nervously blasting away at "suspects".. It's the often sited claim that the deceased "was reaching for his waistband" or other imaginary location that justified unlimbering the cannon and mowing down a previously innocent and taxpaying citizen! I will never get over the thousand, (countless, really) number of times some trigger happy cop used some lame and perfectly normal movement or "action" on the part of the civilian to justify killing him....you know, just in case that suspicious or imaginary movement meant that this guy was going to whip out a weapon and shoot this poor, scared, but alert officer, who was merely performing his duty. The courts will always back up an officer doing his duty and it's time these scum balls understood what is expected of them. Actions justified, case closed!

edit: additionally, as part of my research, I discovered something that had not occurred to me. It is the practice where street cops will confiscate a "Saturday Night Special" from some likely teenager, and prevent it from being charged as possession of stolen property, or other excuse. At this point, they keep the weapon as a potential "throwaway" at the scene of a shooting when the officer needs to show a weapon where none existed, in order to justify a shooting in self defense. Sort of an insurance policy in the event the officer needs an excuse for his hasty and unjustified murder of an innocent civilian. I could go on, but you get the picture!
