I ran across this little tidbit this morning about just what the president elect wants to do, and of course, his priorities are fucked up.
Read 'em and weep.
Ban on Assault Weapons and High-Capacity Magazines
“Ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Federal law prevents hunters from hunting migratory game birds with more than three shells in their shotgun. That means our federal law does more to protect ducks than children. It’s wrong. Joe Biden will enact legislation to once again ban assault weapons.”
Mandatory Gun and Magazine Registration
“Regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act. Currently, the National Firearms Act requires individuals possessing machine-guns, silencers, and short-barreled rifles to undergo a background check and register those weapons with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Due to these requirements, such weapons are rarely used in crimes. As president, Biden will pursue legislation to regulate possession of existing assault weapons under the National Firearms Act.”
Mandatory Gun Confiscation
“Buy back the assault weapons and high-capacity magazines already in our communities. Biden will also institute a program to buy back weapons of war currently on our streets. This will give individuals who now possess assault weapons or high-capacity magazines two options: sell the weapons to the government, or register them under the National Firearms Act.”
Ban Manufacturing of All Non-Smart Guns
“Put America on the path to ensuring that 100% of firearms sold in America are smart guns. Today, we have the technology to allow only authorized users to fire a gun. For example, existing smart gun technology requires a fingerprint match before use. Biden believes we should work to eventually require that 100% of firearms sold in the U.S. are smart guns. But, right now the NRA and gun manufacturers are bullying firearms dealers who try to sell these guns. Biden will stand up against these bullying tactics and issue a call to action for gun manufacturers, dealers, and other public and private entities to take steps to accelerate our transition to smart guns.”
by the way, "smart guns" are wishful thinking. They do not exist, and if they were to plow ahead with something labeled as such but unworkable and unreliable, it's the citizens that would be tremendously inconvenienced, at the very least.

PS expect that whatever they can do through the legislature, they will do as punitively as humanly possible. After that the deep swamp regulatory agencies will jack the fees for everything. $200 fee for registering under the National Firearms Act is peanuts compared to what they think would be a real deterrent, maybe more like a thousand bucks? (for each "high capacity magazine"?)

That NFA act was put in place in 1934 with the $200 tax. The amount has never changed for the most part. In today's dollars the tax would be over $3,800. So you can expect the tax is going to be raised big time under Biden.
God only knows what kind of tax they are planning for ammo. If the Dems take the Senate, kiss your guns goodbye.

I have been reading a little about those backing Biden and offering him lots of great advice. Even if he never thought he could get away with it, the zealots holding him upright are pretty jazzed about using Obama's "I have a pen and a phone" solution with the Executive Orders! They really think they can outlaw AR15's and any other semi autos with the stroke of a pen; and that is a very scary thought! They really think they can put a 500% tax on a box of ammo, with the stroke of a pen!
See how that works? The sky's the limit! These UTTER IDIOTS that voted against Trump do not know the havoc they have begun! Here we are, just about to inaugurate a man that needs somebody close by with a hankie to wipe the drool. As if that isn't enough, we have Kamila Harris in the wings, and she is every bit as dangerous as Hillary ever thought of being!
Every RINO that voted for Biden aught to be horse whipped! It's not even rational, what they have done!
