I just picked up a Leupold Mark AR mod 1 on Amazon.

It is a 3x9 power, with 40 mm objective lense and 1 inch tube. The scope has a Tactical Milling Firedot reticle. The entire reticle isn't illuminated, only a dot in the center of the reticle which is adjustable for brightess.

As one could expect from Leupold the optical quality is bright and clear.

The windage and elevation adjustments are external and marked in milliradian increments.

And for Leonard, this scope is going on a model 700 chambered in .243. No AR and no 223!

Any other preferences on scopes for predator hunting?

I can rest easy in my grave knowing I helped one Philistine see the light! Friends do not let friends buy bolt action 223's.

Yeah, I read something recently about that scope. Can't really knock Leupold, they make a decent product. By chance, is the center beam adjustable as to brightness?

That's one thing I have reservations about, unless it's green laser? If you have your deep purple night vision going for ya, that red dot could blind you? It's happened to me.

Good hunting. El Bee

It is a green adjustable dot Leonard. I had seen your other post on the lighted reticle and it did weigh into my decision to purchase this scope.

It goes from a very small / dim to I think 7 settings to a brighter / larger dot.
