Forgot I created a login for this site. It's getting close to calling time so I figured, what the hell, might as well see what the banned are up to.
So hello to the guys who know me and the ones who don't.
Btw, is a 223 enough to shoot a coyote?

I don't know you, but you show much restraint, having registered three years ago and this being your first post. Which is allowed, just curious.

In any case, Welcome to The New HuntmastersBBS.com, Braska. Glad to have you on board.

Hmm? Is that short for Nebraska? Help us out, where would we know you from, if we frequented other sites?

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: go ahead and try the 223 on coyotes, it might work, if you do your part?

The hot new set-up that none of these guys will admit to using is to neck down 300 WinMag to .224, barrel it to an AR platform and load it hot.
No spinners, no runners, no need to skin !!!

Remember, you heard it here first !!!!

I was on the shitty site for a long time and watched the decay of that pos. I'm on the new NPHA or whatever it's called but it's too slow there.
I forgot I even registered here. Work and long range precision shooting take up the rest of my time when I'm not hunting.

I'm old and quite unimaginative. What are you calling, "the shitty site"?

This site is called "The New" Huntmasters because there was a previous version that was so old that the code was literally decaying. But, this version has been around since 2002, so if we don't have a record for longevity that's ok, we will still survive on truth, justice and the American way. I'd like to attribute the survival to a couple things. One is no advertisers, nobody I have to please or answer to. I pay the bills and the buck stops here, no moderators, just group enforcement-lite.

We attract some very knowledgeable people and if somebody gets it wrong, there's plenty of back up. If we can't figure it out, you have a very serious problem.

But, mostly, it's just BS-ing about mutual interests, no need to stay on topic, so in that regard, it's a bit unique.

If you like guns and hunting and predators, you should find something to interest you here.

You may find it interesting that I used to be the administrator of Predatormasters right after Wil Craig died. I bet I haven't looked at that site three times in almost fifteen years. So, actually, I had a bit of involvement in the original success of predatormasters, and those people running it now sure have a different idea. But that's old news, it doesn't even exist as far as I'm concerned.

That was the original problem I had with the crew. Money. We had many donations, several firearms intended as door prizes at the first meeting in Globe. I was outvoted when they decided to sell tickets and made a lot of money off of all the donated gear, which (far as I know) persists to this day. And, they probably are, but you can include me out? I haven't made a dime off of this site. Hey, Red frog has an account on Huntmasters. lol

Glad you approve and appreciate, Asmith. One little item I firmly believe is a tool for mischief is PM (private messaging).

Too many people are sneaky and prefer talking "about" you behind your back. They have groups, (clicks) and behave like little girls. Mean little girls.

That feature is disabled here on Huntmasters.

Leonard, are you able to see when people are lurking? It's not really important I guess, it's just something I have wondered about more than once.

No, but it would be interesting. I always wondered motivation, why would somebody lurk and never feel the urge to contribute? But, we have members that lurk also. Check in every day, and still have no comment. Not me. I have to share my opinion, take it or leave it but you will know where I stand.

Good hunting. El Bee

PS I went through the membership roles last year, marveled at the number of people that drift in and out then go back to their favorite gardening and food forums. I figured, if you haven't posted in the last ten years, I just might delete your account? Don't let that happen, log on and mouth off!

Funny how I remember Will Craig and what he wanted but over time turned into a bunch of crapola.I donated many a call to the PM hunts years ago and actually met some pretty decent guys from PM but none of them are there anymore as they got banned for being to honest about how they felt or believed. This site being the only one I have lurked and responded to along with one other site that started when things got "funny'. And that is the CPC site, pretty clean and family type but with a lot of decent folk there. Have taken many of those guys out and gotten them their first coyotes which I found satisfying.
But nothing so far tops this site for blunt and honest talking about our favorite pastime with some of the best callers around...

Well thanks, Walt! Good to know we have some value for the dedicated few. I don't quite know what it is about this format and the policies here but it has something to do with the way I have personally been treated years ago, on other sites, including PM. Boy, (in my humble opinion, one feature that will cause much trouble is the private messaging. There's a certain type of chickenshit asshole that loves to work all the angles, it's some kind of arrested development?

I'd rather spit it out, in the open and take my lumps if they are due. I have experience with men in a group, like the US Army, for instance, and I know how to hold my own with the macho types. And the sneaky bastards. Anyway, it's here for the taking, use it as you see fit.

Good hunting. El Bee

PS I'll say this, Walt. You have yourself situated in some very nice country of which I am well acquainted. You are fortunate!

edit: oops! I just noticed your location, when did that happen?
