I got a call in the morning a couple days ago. It started out like a typical SPAM call but then he said he was Aaron? He didn’t sound like Aaron, sounded like an Asian or Indian?

He said he had an accident and was arrested. He said a lawyer would call me. So, this guy started out, Aaron had crashed into the back of another car driven by a black woman 7 months pregnant. He has a couple broken ribs, a broken nose and a badly cut lip. So, I guess that’s why I couldn’t recognize his voice.

So, he has charges, reckless endangerment, and a couple more seriously sounding, but the lawyer was worried that if woman lost the, (now it’s a baby) fetus then he was looking at vehicular manslaughter and who knows what else?

Never mind that all she really has is a few bruises, and as far as I know she might still be in the hospital under observation.

So, he’s in deep shit! $75,000 bail….and that’s where PaPa comes in! He said I needed to deposit cash bail and told me what to do.

This all started at 10:34 am when I left the house for the bank. Lawyer said, whatever I do, DO NOT MENTION THE WORD “BAIL” as to the reason for withdrawing these funds!

That part went okay, except there were about a dozen people ahead of me in line to see a teller so it was a little more than 30 minutes later and he told me to try to get me the funds in 2 hours if at all possible? Of course, that was total wishful thinking, I was all over half of Southern California in the next 11 and a half hours!

First to an address in Fontana, no scratch that; first to Pomona. That machine couldn’t be accessed without a card, so then I had to enter that address in Fontana, which was about 20 miles down the road. That machine had the same problem. I was on the phone with the lawyer and he was feeding me all kinds of access codes and PIN numbers, over and over. Nothing worked so he asked me about Palm Springs? I said, that’s bullshit, it’s about 75 miles, find something closer!

He asked me about West Covina and Corona? I told him to wait while I programmed both into my GPS. Well, Corona was 20 miles and W Covina was 26 miles so I headed to Corona.
But, by this time I was sick of entering access codes repeatedly. And, he kept telling me to shove hundred dollar bills in this slot for accepting checks and it would spit the money back at me!

Keep in mind that all these places were in convenience stores, I think 7-11’s? About this time, he had the bail bond woman call me and she sent me to another location which was a PNC bank that was closed but it had a machine out front. I kept telling her that this thing did not appear to have the right kind of gadget for accepting currency? But I still spent several hours there until there was nobody anywhere in this shopping center that was open. Dental office closed, Mexican restaurant, closed, Nail salon closed, completely empty parking lot and it was getting dark.

So, she said she had another location still in Corona, down the freeway about 5 miles. I didn’t have much hope because this was another 7-11 and an Arco station. And, it had the same kind of ATM machine as 3 others. I tried telling her that this think dispensed money not accepted deposits!

Then she asked if there was another machine and there was a fucking BIT COIN machine right next to it. BINGO!

Well, the damned thing was a bitch to figure out, but somehow I managed to stuff enough bills and collected the receipts and took photos of the receipts and texted the photos to her. She said it looks good, but it was too late to get him out tonight.

So, I entered “home” into the GPS and went down the 91 to the 71 and exited on, I forget the number but it was Euclid Blvd and then it was another 12 miles to home and I got there at 11:15pm. I warmed up some pizza slices and the lawyer called me on my land line. He said it was too late to spring him tonight but he could put him in a cottage, (don’t ask me?) because with his injuries he didn’t want him in with the general population. And he said he sent out to a Wendy’s to get him some food because it was after house etc.

So, I haven’t heard? He was supposed to be checking if his car was drivable, it was impounded. That’s where it stands. I hope this wasn’t some sort of elaborate scam but I don’t know, he said his phone was broken so he can’t call so I’m just waiting to see if this wasn’t some kind of elaborate scam to swindle a poor old man out of his life savings or what?

I know what it sounds like. Quite an education, I never go into convenience stores, but there is a culture that gasses up and walks out with a slurpie and a chili dog. I slept until just past 11, yesterday. Still waiting to hear….

Good hunting

I called the cops. They took a report. I can paste that in my scrapbook along with all these receipts from Bitcoin. It turns out that Richard knows all about these scams, but he never told me so I'm suing for failure too perform due diligence, per the officer that took my statement. I got a case number and all the receipts and the locations of the machines, names and phone numbers, but for some reason, when I call that number a recording says: call rejected!

Oh and Aaron is fine. I haven't talked to him. My daughter called his daughter and she assured Shelley that he's fine. I wonder how they connected me and him and my phone number? It's my fault, I just never think of crooks, I'm never been arrested, never been sued, one time the neighbor lady signed a complaint because Pinky was too loud but it was dismissed, that was at least 5, maybe 6 years ago, my last brush with the law. No court, just a meeting with the city attorney at the police station but Paula didn't show up, wasted everybody's time and she never apologized, she moved to Florida a couple years ago. Good riddance! Now I have a nice family with 3 kids next door, they give me goodies at Christmas and knock on the door if I leave the sprinklers on too long. What a difference from Paula, the Bitch!

Police just left.Said to talk to the bank, they MIGHT be able to do something? What could they possibly do? I think the whole thing is a waste of time. You notice, I have not mentioned how much money I crammed into that BitCoin machine. Let's just say, it was a serious amount of money. And the officer said it's not uncommon, but why didn't ko ko tell me about it? I aught to suspend his posting privileges! It's obviously something he should have done but hell, I wouldn't feel right filing charges, he's been a member in good standing at least since the first of the year; maybe longer? I'll let it slide, this time buy it better not ever happen again! I cannot afford this shit! That's it, I'm just joking around, makes a good human interest story, don't you think? Good for a laugh!

Good hunting. El Bee

I just remembered something. The attorney cautioned me: at the bank, do not mention the withdrawal is for bail money, because then they might question it or something? Yeah, they might have said, this is a well known big scam, whatever you do, do not deposit bail money in an ATM machine! I was very careful not to divulge the "actual purpose" I said: I'm going to Vegas!
