Maybe I didn't mention that I spent 2 1/2 days at the Hampton Inn in Temecula last week for my slightly delayed, (by 2 years) 60th high school reunion. Well, modesty forbids me from noting all the compliments I received; mostly from females that weren't very interested in dating me, back in the day. Eat your heart out, girls! Thanks for nothing! I'm just kidding. Virginia came from Michigan, and Merrilee came from Florida. Marlane from Colorado. There were many from out of state, several from Texas so we really dispersed; me, not so much. Yet.

Temecula has grown unbelievably in the last 50 years or so. I remember, at one time, there was little reason to stop, the main street was about a block long. Now, they have shops very similar to more exotic locales like Taos or Santa fe or Solvang? Trendy and expensive restaurants and boutique shops all over the place and Main Street reminded me a lot like Sunset Boulevard on a Friday night, but this was on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Lots of two wheel conveyances, Choppers and Aspencaides, (sp) and lots of exotic cars just soaking up the atmosphere. And, I didn't count them, but at least six upscale hotels, including the one we stayed at.

We had the Tuscany Room (right off the lobby) to ourselves all day long for 3 days. I never touched a drop, but there was free booze and they didn't run out, then on Thursday night it was catered by I think it was called Rosa's, a Mexican restaurant a couple blocks down Jefferson, the main drag.

I think we had close to 60 graduates in attendance and everybody was at least 80 years old and by the way, they sang me Happy Birthday, too! There was a couple people from the Class of '59 and '58 and we even had a widow, Bob Norris's wife came because she said she had such a good time 7 years ago when she came with Bob.

All in all a good time was had by all.

NO NO NO!

I got the word much earlier that many of my HS chums and dedicated leftists. It was tacitly and smartly agreed that discussing politics at this affair would be extremely counterproductive.

However, we have a secret handshake and pretty much know who is and who aint. So we talk behind their back. Some may claim chickenshit but considering this is The People's Republik, there are a few more idiots than clear thinking alumni! Anyway, you can't discuss politics logically with these people, it's all emotions. What can I say?

I live here. I know which way the wind blows....

I hope everyone wore their face diaper. That reunion was probably a super spreader event. [Big Grin]

A few waiters were masked up but no attendees.
