I'm watching a "game" between CRO vs DEN.

Endlessly romping back and forth, and unbelievable fake injuries. Embarrassing.

But, now t's some kind of overtime, the score is tied 1-1. Wow! High scoring game. There was a previous "match" that was also 1-1 involving Russia and somebody, oh! Spain, just remembered. So, game over, tied and they have penalty kicks kind of like Hockey, which is probably where they got the idea?

Blatant foul, the guy should have easily scored, but was tripped from behind. He got a penalty kick and it was blocked, that's it? Highway robbery.

Anyway, this shit will never catch on.

Good hunting. El Bee

UPDATE! (breathlessly) CRO apparently won? They got 3 kicks in the net and DEN only got 2.

God! Was this ever exciting!

FISA world cup round of 16, for those Neanderthals out there that don't follow this stuff.

Seriously, a world cup soccer match is like a colonoscopy, only in a more brutal, Gay way.

I once described soccer to a co-worker from Lebanon as a bunch of sissies running around in their underwear, too stupid to bend over and pick up the ball.
The look he gave me ……… priceless!!!

[Razz]

Edit; They do have excellent riots, though !!

Soccer that's almost like sport isn't it?

I wonder how they would do as marathon runners?

I have watched a few of the world games and observed that the players stood at attention with their hands over their hearts and sang their national anthem with enthusiasm. No knees. No disrespect. Proud to represent their country.

Some countries take the sport very seriously. Around the mid 90's a man referred to as the Gentleman of Soccer scored his own goal. In other words, he accidently kicked the ball into his own net. The game was lost to the US and ten days later upon returning to his country he was executed as he exited a restaurant. Some say the mafia was responsible because at the time cartels controlled most of the sport.

Say it isn't so!!!

I think that is a valid observation above. Your average citizen of various countries do, indeed have a certain amount of national pride. Here in southern California, as I recall, when Mexico played a soccer match with the US team at the Rose Bowl, the stands were full of Mexicans, living in the US but rabidly rooting for the Mexican team. On the one hand, it doesn't make much sense? If you are so loyal and deliriously in love with the country of your birth, that you made great effort to get the fuck out of there, but still stand at respectful attention and scream whenever the Mexicans move the ball past midfield.

Only in America do we have a brainwashed citizenry that sees no value in US citizenship. Why is this, you may ask? Well, it's because we have stood by and allowed our public education system to be infiltrated and completely controlled by disloyal socialists spoon-feeding anti American dogma to our children, from preschool to university. The only thing they seem to retain is a GLOBAL outlook and particularly, no concept of American history whatsoever. These man on the street interviews we see occasionally make me want to throw heavy objects at the TV screen! Such basic questions, like when was the Declaration of Independence signed received no correct answers and one young man replied, "1984" sincerely, with a straight face.

I've said many times, in my age group, a valid question might be ; do you remember where you were when Kennedy was shot? And, of course, we all do. But these GenXer's and Millennials, you might as well be asking about Lincoln, they have no concept, when it happened, why, and no curiosity whatsoever. They can't imagine anybody not always having a smart phone, Instagram and mass, instantaneous communication.

Also, the youth are completely uneducated, they can't make change at the drive in window unless the cash register tells them what it is, even if it's a dime back for a $4.90 Taco Grande. It's not their fault that they can't drive a stick shift, of course; but they don't even understand the question. Changing their own oil is not ever considered, calling AAA for a flat is the only option. I don't think half of these girlie men have ever changed a tire, or have ever got a bloody nose in a fist fight, since they all fight like a girl anyway, pulling hair and scratching, etc.

Our country is dumbed down. I really feel that one day they will give it away for a new iPad, and feel proud that they were so progressive in allowing the Chinese to take over America. There really isn't a sense of National Pride anymore, it's pretty hokie to say a Pledge of Allegiance....what's that?

Well, I won't be around to see the conclusion of this decline, especially if this crazy shit continues. Trump is probably the last gasp at making America great again, and the democrat party is so far left wing that they will fight against Trump just because CNN tells them to. It's not looking good for freedom and democracy. Unfortunately.

Good hunting. El Bee

I would like to see the following question asked of the average millennial on the street: Which president was responsible for the majority of deaths in the Vietnam war? A) Democrat J. F. Kennedy. B) Democrat Lyndon B Johnson. C) Republican Richard M. Nixon.

I'd be wiling to bet 95% would get in wrong. The 5% that got it right would have to be serious students of history. Another good question would be which one of the three Presidents got us out of the Vietnam War?

I know that you can't stop progress, put the Genie back in the bottle, etc. but the millennial doesn't 'need' to know anything except how to operate the Smart Phone. All of the knowledge is right there...…...filtered thru the same standards used by the media. A great deal of power resides there in somebody's hands deciding on how information is presented.
But hey, it gives the kids more time to eat Tide Pods and protest.

Didn't a Democrat get us into Korea? and then a Republican (Ike) said that he was going to Korea to end the conflict? Then, he did.

You are right. Truman was a Democrat and Eisenhower was a Republican. A while back I read a long book, 900 plus pages, about Truman and he was quite the progressive IMHO. He advocated universal health care!

Well, maybe he had his faults, we all do. But, in spite of the current second guessing and condemnations about bombing innocent civilians, etc., he had the balls to authorize bombing the piss out of the Japs, twice.

Back then, the only guy that was disappointed was macAuthor. He wanted his grand invasion, never mind the fanatical natives willing to Banzai with a sharp stick. Back in the day, I think it was universally approved to drop those bombs. Modern "Progressives" kinda consider it mass murder, and Trump's fault.

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: oh, and by the way, the reason MacAurthor was canned was because he wanted to Nuk the ChiComs. He really did have to go, Presidents had been putting up with him for 20 years.
