Thought maybe some of y'all would like to see what I've been up to the last several weeks. Between scouting and this week's hunt, I been a little preoccupied. I did call up a coyote before we packed up yesterday morning, but stood up too soon and boogered it.

That's a damned nice bull.

I'm impressed!

How did you manage to get a tag?

Are you sure that's you?

I wouldn't recognize ya?

Morman Lake? Just a guess.

Good hunting. El Bee

Jim
That is one fine bull I followed your adventure via fb. you put in the work and got the results.
So should we be expecting lots of fresh meat at the campout. lol
I don't care what anybody says the beard must stay it looks great and suits you very well. Every time I see a Drake rig rolling I'm looking for that tuft of white floating in the window.

Thanks everybody!

Koko and Paul, opinions are mixed on the chin whiskers, but disapprove is far out in front. Thanks for bolstering my position. As for meat...I left it with a highly recommended mom and pop processor. Told them to hang it for at least a week and she said that would be the earliest they could get to it anyway, so we'll see. If I have it by then, we'll be eating elk burgers one night for sure.

Good eye, KaBloomeR! Not one of the more appreciated Knights. Had to send the first one back because of fail to fire issues, and during a phone conversation with Tommy Knight himself, he offered to upgrade me to a different model at no charge. I politely turned his generous offer down because of the switchable cross bolt safety, since I'm a lefty. I haven't regreted that decision. With that $200 Nikon Inline scope, it's good to hit what I aim at to 300 yards. Pretty cool for a smoke pole.

Leonard, I had 9 bonus points. 50 tags in the unit and I got #5. Closer to Payson.

umm? Can I change your custom title to "second place, ZZ Top look-a-like contest"?

Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on October 04, 2014, 07:43 AM:

Curious. I suppose that's maybe 58-62 caliber? So, first of all, did you use a round ball or some type of conical?

But, to the question: Did he drop or run and how far, and require a followup, or what?

Good hunting. El Bee

That's a .50, and I was shooting 250gr saboted .45 bullets by Hornady, over 3 50gr pellets of 777. Muzzle velocity, a tick over 2200fps. He was bedded and I had to stand him up to get a clear shot. 25 yards in the neck. Never fully gained his feet.

As for the title, you are the HMFIC.

If only his 3s had carried a bit more, lol. I'll be interested to hear what my guy says when I pick up the euro mount. 320-330 seems to be the popular choice.
