I'm surprised there's no discussion of this on here, perhaps I'm missing it, but Tim Behle's struggle with Valley Fever has culminated with a week long stint in the ICU.

He was removed from life support yesterday afternoon and I don't think he was expected to survive with the holes in his lungs. I came here expecting to see some more recent info, admittedly expecting the worst. Please share if you've heard any news, I struggle to stay in the loop anymore but I'll do the same.

I met Tim 10 years ago this month, I know some of you have known him much longer, let's hope for a long shot. He's good at those.

Thanks;
Jason R. Bruce

This is the first I have heard?

If anybody else has any information at all about Tim, we need to hear it. In any case, if things are as dire as indicated above, I am shocked and saddened.

Tim has been removed from life support, and has a DNR in effect. A severe case of Valley fever along with pneumonia have caused several lesions and holes thru his lungs, along with the other associated problems they cause.

The last most of us knew, Tim was living in Mexico, checking the Boards on his phone, and his health problems mostly behind him.

This comes as a shock.

ditto on koko.

I thought the shingles and Valley Fever were long ago and basically cured?

Shock doesn't even begin to describe it! Can't believe it, poor guy!

Damn... I haven't heard from Tim in a coons age. Speaking of age though, he's the same age as I am, which is too young for this.

Sorry to hear about it.

He gave me a box of cigars way back when I knew about him being sick, which like Leonard says, I thought was basically over, quite a many years ago. I still have a couple of them left.

I have kept up with Tim on FB. His illness seemed to come on very fast, and the news is very sad. I'll never forget his making burritos for all of us.

Like Geordie, I have tried to follow it the past few days on Facebook, but information has been sketchy, at best. When he got shingles, I used him as a guinea pig and ordered some medicine from a guy Ronnie Robison used to use as a med source for his pain control and, according to Tim, the meds worked great in controlling the shingles pain. He has been through many challenges in life since and I've had occasional contact with him the past two years. Things have been spotty and now this. Very sad.

I have kept in touch with Tim thru FB as well.
This all seems to have come on suddenly. I don't know a lot of details. Other than to say he needs our thoughts and prayers at this time.

I just got a message from Larry and Brenda Behle.
Tim is in St. Marys hospital in Tucson. They were given no hope from his doctors Yesterday they took him off the vent and brought him out of an induced coma , after a time he responded to answer some yes and no questions the doctors were amazed. They say he had two holes in his lungs one was repaired the other not as they are thinking another will develop due to the condition of his lungs. It seems our friend is in very rough shape and in need of our thoughts and prayers.

This is really hard to believe. Mortality, you know?

I have a continuing objection to FaceBook, never have been on it, but can see where it might have been an advantage yesterday when I googled Tim Behle.; create an account, etc. But still, I don't Twitter or FaceBook and can't give you a good reason why?

Thanks for the info, Paul. Much appreciated. LB

I use facebook to keep in touch with some friends and relatives I would not otherwise have contact with. I also use it to vent my deep seated disdain of the current administration and liberals and other commie scum in general.
Its a lot of fun in that regard. edit to say I don't twitter or anything else just fb.

Yeah, hear ya on that shit. My Reno relatives network with my NorCal relatives who communicate with my Colorado family and also with the AZ (Phoenix/Scottsdale) part of the family. All in all, they manage to keep abreast of what I get into, more or less.

Son and grandson in Colorado
Daughter and granddaughters in San Rafael
Uncle and girl cousins in Reno
Cousin and girl second cousins in Phx.

I'm the only holdout left in SoCal. 'bout time I did something about it, instead of just talk, eh?

Hang in there, Tim. Everybody's praying for ya.

Tim's mother just posted a request (21 hours ago) on his facebook page asking for phone numbers of anyone that wanted to hear from him "when he got to feeling better", so maybe things are improving. I posted on that thread that there were a lot of us gnarly old wolfers holding him up in prayer and asked that they try to keep us updated as much as possible through that FB page. I will try to bring any updates here as they become available.

Tim's mother just posted that Tim has made a miraculous turn around and is being released soon his lungs are still in bad shape. She said Monday they were planning a funeral and now this.
Never doubt the power of prayer. What a huge relief to hear this fine news. Thank you all for your thought and prayers.

Here is the update his mom posted 18 hours ago.

UPDATE ON TIM: Now I can tell you the rest of the story, just like Paul Harvey. On Monday, we met with the doctors and we were to watch him this week and if there was no improvement we were going to place him in Hospice on the following Monday. On Tuesday morning they noticed that he was able to breathe on his own. So they gave him oxygen under his nose and brought him out his coma. One Wednesday, he was even better and they were moving him to a regular room. We didn't want to provide any false hope so we just maintained that he was improving. Today, Brenda called and talked to him and he had been looking for us all day because he wanted to tell us that he was being released tomorrow. The staff can not believe the turn around he made in less than 48 hours. Brenda made a comment to him and he said, "don't you believe in the power of prayer?" He will have his cell phone back tomorrow and be back on the computer. His lungs are still in terrible shape, but he is doing fine. This is certainly a miracle. We were actually planning a funeral on Monday and now he is coming home. Amazing......

Posted by Tim himself just three hours ago today,

"To those people who are anxiously awaiting the news of my death, I'm very happy to laugh and let you know that not only did I pull out of my coma, I was released from the hospital today and am resting happily with family in Sierra Vista. To the many people who prayed for me, I thank you with all of my heart. And for those who doubt the power of prayer, think about this, . a week ago today my parents were told to make arrangements for my funereal. Instead of making arrangements they started asking people to pray for me. Still have doubts?"

Along the "Krusty Trail" of these internet forums three people have made more of an impact on my real life than any others.

One was Nancy and when we lost her (*I hope it's okay to say we, Leonard) it was like a punch in the gut and I swore I was going to honor the way she saw me by trying as hard as I could to be that man.

Another was Rich Cronk. He taught me how to make predator calls, and he paid me the greatest compliments on the application of those skills by telling me he thought I was his best student.
And through the recordings of his lip-squeak sounds, other than my brother Red, he was the one I hunted with more than anybody else. He was with me on my best days in the field and still is.
I miss that old fart, a lot... and this is the first time I've been able to bring myself to write about his passing.

The other is Tim Behle.
He never gave up on me nor would he allow me to give up on myself.
For all the times that I pissed you guys off, and Lord knows that was fairly often for a while there, he never ever got mad at me (at least that I know of).
And, even though I didn't learn as much as I could have about trapping from Tim I learned almost everything important that I know about being a trapper from him.
Leonard is probably the only one who was more proud of me for finally killing a coyote, but I think Tim was the happiest.
*He had a lot going on, at the time, and didn't have but a few words to say... but that's Tim's thing, he speaks volumes with very few words and he's usually spot on. He didn't have long verbose instruction for me, instead he taught me by example like he just has again.

"Don't count me out just yet" eh Tim? [Smile]

I was NOT ready to let Tim go! [Frown]
And I seriously doubt any of us is happier for him, right now, than I am. [Big Grin]

Today, Tim Behle, like so many days in the past... you are my hero!

Feel better, be happy, and stick around and be the man I have for so long admired for a good long while longer, okay!

It's okay to say, "we", Krusty. You know, my friends always liked her more than me. I understood. My daughter called her mother a "Saint" not long ago, right in front of my current girlfriend. It's okay, Karen is already aware of such things.

But, back on track....this miracle with Tim is awesome. I don't even know what to think of it? Maybe he will find the time to check in with his friends on HM? Maybe we should change his custom title to "Lazarus" ?

I had heard, some time back that Tim no longer has a computer, just like Quinton Waggoner. He makes due with a cell phone and for me at least, it is very difficult to log on to websites via a phone. Some can do it and my hat's off to those that can. But, with my MacBook Pro, I don't have to. Which, by the way, was the best thing I ever did, in bailing out of all the PC drama.

Good to know, I know where to turn if I ever need to use my iPhone for "everything". But Vic has a computer, I have seen it.

PS but, that would explain his short posts? He's not exactly chatty on the boards.

I'm glad to hear of Tim's miracle.

I haven't been on a computer in a couple of years. I use my iPhone and am very happy doing so. I know the new computers are faster but my old computer drives me nuts it's so slow.

You guys are so progressive! Striker fired systems and now, smartphones. Oh my! [Smile]

You know what? I occasionally leave my phone in the truck all day before I realize where I left it. And, I don't take it to bed with me, if somebody pings me, I don't hear it. I treat it as outgoing, not incoming

I look at women backing out of a parking place with their phone to their ear. I am determined not to let it infect me. Imagine, not long ago, no cell phones at all. How the fuck did we manage? Sometimes I think that whoever invented them should have their ass kicked.

Hate to tell you what I am thinking when I see somebody walking, totally absorbed in their smartphone, texting twitter and Instagram and Facebook. Oh, did you see where Facebook censored that big game hunter girl? Who the hell do they think they are? This is why I won't join a chickenshit outfit like that.

Technology sucks!

I have a love hate relationship with my I- phone
Love the GPS and Weather , hate sitting in a room full of people staring at their laps. And texting has stopped most meaningful communication , and while I'm at it why do apps need to know my location I should stop now before I burn my phone!

About 3 years back I was hunting with a guy and he said I just picked up a new spot we should go there.
I asked have you looked it over and scouted it? Nope, he said check this out and pulled up a satellite shot of the location. I looked it over and said the wind will be right and the coyotes should be in this draw at this time of morning.
Pulled up and went thru the gate and got it done.

I thought that was pretty cool.

Stay after them

I've used google earth and mapquest both to scout new places.

I can check prices and order parts anytime.

Make notes, store combinations and loads.

I can buy and sell guns on Facebook.

Check in with talkative people by texting and not have to answer a thousand questions.

Drive anywhere without having to ask for directions and many other things including checking in here, all on my little iPhone.

You are. Our county has a mapping program through the appraiser's office where I can go in and click on any spot on the satellite imagery and the system reveals the owner's name, address and how many acres, highlighting boundaries. If I am in my home county, using the locate service, all I have to do is open the site on the web and auto-locate shows me where I am. I click on the property I'm looking at and there's my owner. Do a search for their phone number and make the call. Green light.

Don't work for me either , it was a fb post by Tim's Mom saying he had been to see the doctor and she(the Doc) feels he will recover to where he was prior to his last event that no fungus was in blood or brain but that he was exhausted and needed rest and nutrition.
