HMMMM, Very good question.
Off hand I say maybe....maybe not. No,I mean , well I mean you got to really hold your mouth just right.
I mean that if you hold just right and the planets and moon are all lined up, like in the movies.Maybe.
But then again if the military uses that pee wee round to make holes in people it SHOULD work . You know, maybe it should work. just saying.

I'm not sure, but our fearless leader just said that a 9mm will blow a human's lungs out of the body, and who needs that? Better to be shot with a 22 because a doctor may be able to extract it, somehow!
This is valuable information! It's good to know that; TWO THINGS! First, citizens have competent police protection, so we certainly do not need an AR15, which can shoot 300 bullets! An AR15 may be the most popular firearm in America, but we don't need it when the police are just a phone call away.
Second, that 9mm is the most popular handgun in the country, maybe in the world; but it will blow your lungs out of your body, and who needs that, right?
So, you may as well make it a package deal, a "combo" if you will, and surrender both wildly popular firearms, to be pulverized into magnetic dust. On the plus side, Liberals will be able to finally get a good night's sleep and not worry about being machine-gunned with a high capacity, 30 round magazine; a common problem where Lefties hang out, while waiting for their abortion.
You can just feel the excitement in the air, finally a murderous mayhem, horrific enough to move the needle towards significant action on gun control-I mean, confiscation! Republican law makers have signaled their willingness to stab their gun rights supporters in the back to appease Liberals with a needed first step in making America into a GUN FREE ZONE. Kumbyah!
For all you paranoid folks, there will be provisions to issue a high pitched whistle, to summon the Boys in Blue, but only if you turn in your weapons without delay, and before the Gestapo comes Breaching....I mean, knocking on your door. (It would probably be better if you stayed dressed, until at least 3 A.M.

Does anybody find it a wee bit odd that most of the mass shootings take place in Gun Free Zones ???
Seems that I could make the argument that even with the (remote) possibility of an accidental discharge one would be safer at a gun show or gun range than in a Gun Free Zone.

To address, for just a moment, the supposed legitimate question. Is 9mm Luger, or Parabellum: (Latin for War) if you prefer, or perhaps just 9mmX19, indicating the bore size and case capacity....
First of all, yes, the round is potentially lethal, for humans as well as coyotes; assuming a hit in a vital zone. But not likely instantaneous, drop dead.
If you shoot a coyote with your trusty Glock, he will probably run off, (85%) and don't expect much of a blood trail. Even a human might walk to the emergency room for treatment. It's a puny round, rated a little above 38 Special, but that's to be taken with a grain of salt. Handloaders will have no trouble surpassing 9mm data.
I'd rate 9mm slightly above marginal. The idea that the vaunted FBI adopted the round after quitting on the 10mm and then also, the 40S&W because the ladies were afraid of it, says something about female FBI agents and their actual qualifications. If you are going to arm the whole friggin' team with a puny 9mm because chicks can't handle the 40, well, that's rather pathetic, if you ask me? I don't have much of an argument, seeing as how the United States Army is also stuck on stupid.
Maybe they all carry +P+ HP? Sure, that makes 9mm a stopper, faced with a crazed maniac armed with an AR15 that can decapitate a man with a single shot! IT won't reliably put down a coyote at 100 yards but that's why you have 300 bullets....right?
Anyway, the subject is 9mm Luger and if a a single round, center of mass, will disable the bad guy. I'd say, offhand, about 50%, it settles his hash. The bad guy. A double tap should be damned near mandatory, ya know?
Where do I get all this advice? I'll tell you truthfully. I have always believed in the physical tactile evaluation, in the hand. If you just palm a 45ACP and a 9mm Luger, roll them around a little bit, it's not all that hard to decide which is a more effective man stopper. Do the same thing with a 30'06 Springfield and a 308 Winchester. Even a girl can make a better guess as to which round is more effective. This method works with any number of cartridges. Just hold a 17 Remington and a 22-250, pick them up roll them around and answer the question: which of these cartridges is more likely to kill a coyote at 100 yards, center of mass?
Well, I see that the Peanut Gallery is somewhat puzzled by the question so let's generalize. Does a 3 1/2" Dead Coyote look like it will take out a coyote more effectively than a 3" 20 gauge? Same thing , handle both, roll them around, pick them up, get the feel and then hazard a guess. I'm betting that just about any Nimrod with get the right answer at least 9 out of 10 times. See how this method works better than data on a screen or a 8.5X11 hard copy? It's almost intuitive. And the FRIGGIN' FBI still went with the 9mm Luger! Go figure!

PS also, I meant to comment. While browsing a catalog just the other day, I saw a box of 10 T shot DEAD COYOTE was listed at $68.XX? can you believe that shit? $6.80 per shot.
