Who knows? Can you tell me if Remington can appeal a judgement and win? I sure as hell hope so!

The first time somebody sues General Motors for killing a pedestrian in a crosswalk, then maybe it's okay to sue gun manufacturers.

Otherwise, it's complete bullshit.

The understanding that I had was it was a settlement and not a judgement.
Really really bad legal precedent.

I can imagine the grief of the parents and maybe the revenge factor but this kid was a wacko and he killed his own mother to get access to the gun, which was locked up, as I understand it.

Momma was incredibly stupid in thinking she could manage her son by indulging his interest in firearms. Have you ever noticed that these insane people just LOOK CRAZY, no need to give them tests.

The lawyers are particularly assholes in blaming the gun. Also, seems like there was some question about which gun did the killing because he also had a handgun, I don't know if they proved that he mowed all of them down with the AR?

You know, I have serious guilt in joining a class action suit against Remington some years ago when they were sued because of inferior metal in the shotgun barrels. I won a 11-87 in a raffle and they sent me a card to be included in the suit and I did. About a year later I got a check for $45 and I feel very guilty of contributing to Remington's decline. I own four Model 700's and I think they are one of the best rifles on the planet, and that shotgun has always performed great.

It's a shitty deal start to finish. At least somebody bought the ammo business. But if they never make another Model 700, (or Model 7) that would be a shame.

When it gets to the point that inanimate objects can be blamed for people's behavior we're on a slippery slope.

I skinned my knuckles the other day when a wrench slipped. How much $$$ does Craftsman owe me ????

Same principle. No personal responsibility. Everybody's a victim. Weez fuked.

The way I hear it, if you got it on video, it did happen and you are a victim! I hope your injury is not permanent, even psychologically, you know, the sleeping at night stuff, etc.?

(what a pussy!)
