Yeah, I made a thread down in politics ? I have plenty of thought's @ work now though.
(edit) I thought the feds over reacted to the whole deal. The refuge was un-occupied @ the time. Things got out of hand quickly.
Lets not forget the investigation of Lavoys shooting, still haven't heard anything about that ? What are they the (feds) so afraid of ?

IMO the verdicts were just.
First, how many Occupy Wallstreet protestors were ambushed, held and went to trial? How many of the Black Lives Matter people? Hell, they were invited to the White House.
Consider this. When Arizona continued to enforce federal immigration laws the Obama administration sued the state to make them stop. A federal court ruled that the state did not have the authority to enforce federal laws. Our local sheriff and the sheriffs of many Oregon counties stopped enforcing federal laws as a result.
So those protestors were occupying federal land and supposedly breaking federal law, right? So why was the sheriff of the county even involved? Then consider that our unelected governor, Kate Brown, involve our state troopers who set up an ambush, on federal land, I might add, and kill Lavoy Finicum and try to kill the other passengers in that car? On the original stop Finicum was shot at and at the second stop he was flat out murdered.
Add to that the fact that FBI agents pretending to be protestors from the refuge were running around town and doing crap that the locals would find offensive in order to discredit the protestors at the refuge. And there were protestors at the entrance to the refuge supposedly protesting the protest. They were being interviewed for the local news here in Oregon. Someone recognized them and a little investigation found that they were paid government shills brought in to discredit the people on the refuge.
The federal prosecutor made the comment that they took over property that doesn't belong to them and kept BLM employess from going to work. The refuge headquarters were closed. And exactly who owns federal land of not the people? No one was kept out of the refuge except by the cops that were blocking the entrance.
If Trump is elected I would hope that his first act as president is to pardon everyone of the protestors. I also think that Kate Brown should be held accountable.
A few years ago I was over that way with a friend doing some calling. We saw a state trooper drive into a snowbank and get his car hopelessly stuck so I pulled over and we hooked up a tow strap tp his car and pulled him out. I pray he wasn't one of the guys that participated in that ambush.

Sure, and now we have the BS up in the Dakotas, lawless behavior and the Media just calls them "activists" and "protesters".
It's outrageous how slanted the Media has become. And, the Federal L.E. is pretty damned scary! Just ambush and shoot people; nothing happens?
49, the western attitude is a lot like the Sagebrush Rebellion. They don't like the heavy handed takeover of public lands, restricting access, harassing recreationalists, etc.

I think there is a vast difference between Federal Marshals under Obama, and Federal Officers under any other administration. The guy is a virtual NAZI. And, it appears his Federal Marshals acted like JACK BOOTED THUGS. A defence attorney is a sworn officer of the goddamned court! You don't use seven THUGS to tackle the defendant's attorney who has just won an acquittal! To me, it sounds like "Sore Loser" reaction. The fucker should sue somebody, the County, the Marshal's service, The Federal Government, and MSNBC?

Dave, I would like to see actual video of the attorney being tazed in the court room. It sounded to me like he didn't want to admit on camera that the marshals didn't actually hurt him.
Just to be clear, it wasn't state troopers who shot into the Lavoy Finicum vehicle, it was Federal agents. I understand they are in hot water over the shooting, though it hasn't been adjudicated yet to my knowledge.
It was a state trooper who actually shot and killed Finicum. But we have hashed this out already on this forum.

Yes the video would be interesting. Maybe it was a light taze ? I don't know how that works ?
I still don't like the smell of it though.
My guess is everyone thought the Bundy's would be found guilty & the marshals would just usher them away, no questions asked.
