I know how popular the member's forum is. So thought I'd post here. A camp trailer is gear right ?
Anyway can't remember if I told you guys we bought a (vintage trailer) a semi-restoration project. It's a 12ft De-Camp built in 1968.
It was a faded white/brown. I repainted, need to do another coat or two. Decided turquoise and white would be good. Trying to stay in the 60's 70's era, look. [ July 05, 2015, 03:38 PM: Message edited by: Dave Allen ]

I'm not good @ posting pic's. Here's more.
We haven't decided to try and keep the interior original with some sanding and brighten the wood.
I think the wife want's to sand and paint the cabinets white and turquoise.
I have no idea how that last pic ended up on the RH side..Lol
I think, I'm going to pull up the linoleum, and install laminate flooring.
Another kitchen pic..Lol [ July 05, 2015, 04:02 PM: Message edited by: Dave Allen ]

We will definitely upgrade the upholstery cushions ect..
I'm going to wax/buff the shit out of everything brite. I've replaced all of the exterior lamps so far. Except for the tail light's, which are Ok, But, I think I'll replace 'em anyway.
It's small enough. We could probably pull with about anything. Not much tongue weight. It measures just under 15ft tongue to rear bumper. Perfect for twisty two track roads. [ July 05, 2015, 04:27 PM: Message edited by: Dave Allen ]

Cool !!
FWIW; I'm a big fan of some stuff called Flitz Polish when it's time to make things bright and shiny.

I've got some stuff called "Mothers" Koko. I tried hand rubbing and seems like a lot of work.
I need to look @ the auto parts stores ? Too see if, I can find a buffing pad or something to chuck up in a drill. That would help a lot.
Note: It was sprinkling when my daughter took those photos !! Finally a little break today !! [ July 05, 2015, 08:24 PM: Message edited by: Dave Allen ]

Cool trailer Dave! I spent a couple of dry nights in wet Alaska in something similar . I second "Flitz" metal polish on the aluminum trim . You might try some steel wool with Flitz smeared on the trim or maybe just apply it directly to the steel wool and rub, it will work either way. I'm pretty sure True Value hardware still stocks tooth paste size tubes of Flitz in at least 2 different sizes available . & I've been told it cleans glass, (not plastic) windows also but I can't verify that.

Just keep telling her how well it'll match, and maybe she'll cave???

I'm thinking that what that trailer really needs is for everybody at the next Camp-Out to sign one of those turquoise panels.
And the truck to pull it; gotta have that.
And paisley print !!!!! You could wear paisley print for camo. Remember, we're here to help.

Man, I would love to go too the campout. Probably not in the cards right now..
Fred, that's awesome dude !! Just showed the wife the pic !!
We've actually been talking about a (retro) same colored pickup to match when we're done. Still tryin' to figure the daughters college deal for this fall though.
I'm not in a spot to write a 10-15k ? check right now ? Koko's offer of autographs is mighty tempting though.. [ July 06, 2015, 05:11 PM: Message edited by: Dave Allen ]

On a side note. Back in the day my cousin restored a 1971 Chevy C10. In the day meaning late 90's
I'll have to call him. I think he put a new motor in it, and the body was restored and painted perfect. Guess what color ? Yep, Turquoise for the main color, and white below the moldings.
He didn't really need it and got bored. I suppose and sold it to a farmer that we both knew for $9500 bucks.
It seemed crazy @ the time ? Anyway, the buyer passed a year or two later. His son comes in every so often, was in last week as a matter of fact.
I almost !! asked him. Hey do you still have your Dad's old pickup, my cousin sold him ? I was afraid, he'd say yeah. Write a ckeck for 10K and it's yours..LOL [ July 06, 2015, 06:07 PM: Message edited by: Dave Allen ]

Dave you make the campout I'm buying the miller lite. I have fixed up a couple of older units the old tear drop shaped ones had a lot of fun restoring and more fun using. remember to pay a lot of attention to the axles and bearings . as the story goes one time I was driving down the road minding my own business and I see smoke coming off my trailer took three beers to put it out. and then I can tell the story of how to press a wheel bearing in the middle of the California desert using a salvaged fence post good times looking back. Good luck and have fun.

Hmmm free Miller Lite and as mentioned autographs. Man you guys are killin' me !!
We actually wanted a tear drop trailer Paul, searched far and wide. They were either way to rough or the nice ones were already restored and just out of my price range.
There's a company in Indiana I think ? that makes a brand new replica Shasta. They are sweet, they come turquoise/white of course. Yellow/white and red/white. They run about 18k though.
I'm glad you posted Paul honest to God, I was thinking about you on Sunday. I hope you are good my friend.
(edit) thanks for the reminder on the wheel bearings !! [ July 07, 2015, 09:13 AM: Message edited by: Dave Allen ]

Same here! Paul, you need to check in once in a while....you know?
Good hunting. El Bee
PS and another thing I have been chewing on; you drink Miller Lite through a straw? They told me a long time ago, that's unwise.

I don't drink anything with or without a straw that contains alcohol.

Well, shit. Good idea, let them worry about it. I like your Ashfork place, envious might be more accurate?
Good hunting. El Bee
Hmm? maybe you won't see this, coverage being what it is, in Ashfork environs?
edit: actually, I can't say I don't drink alcohol, but because of my medication, I have a limit of one drink. Consumption might be two, three drinks a month, hardly worth mentioning but I'm not a teetotaler. [ July 08, 2015, 06:16 AM: Message edited by: Leonard ]
