You might check with Les Johnson...he does a lot for kids. I think he even has a pink hand call he calls a Ruffi-girl, but I think it might be an open reed.

Rick Robbins at RR Custom Calls is your man. Does some pink calls and does a lot of kid stuff.

Mark, would you make one? Doesn't have to be pink if you don't have any. Was hoping to not have to go back to PM, and this same buddy's second daughter got a Rick Robins pink call. I hope he quits having kids. This is my fourth custom call to buy. Lol

I would try Lee (*screen name escapes me at the moment)... he did some pink calls.
I'm not set up to make calls yet, at this new place, but would be willing to make a call if nobody else steps up.
You had to BUY call, for a kid??? That's just wrong!
*The only call I have "in stock" is a collector grade English walnut open reed, not that I wouldn't be willing to cough it up, it's just not what a kid needs.

Joel, right now I just can't. I know it's just a call but I can't seem to get out to the shop to do any of that because of my work schedule. I appreciate the consideration though,thank you.

I hate to see this request go unanswered...

Is there anything "special" I'd need to know to turn wood bodies on a machine lathe?
Do you use the cutting tools that are made for machine lathes, or do you use standard wood tools on some kind of a rest?
This in a way is related to Leonard's question about the witness protection program...
I took a job at a small specialty motorcycle shop, which included an apartment upstairs. *And that's why I moved again.
I asked this morning if it'd be okay to use the lathe, for this project, and it is.
Joel,
Your "kid" may end up with the very first Krusty Krier made on a lathe. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
Lemme see what wood I have and look into pink dye/stain, or if I can find a piece of pink plastic suitable for the cause.
I'll get back to you on this in a day or so.

Goodness, Krusty. No need man. I went ahead and emailed ole Yellerdog. I'll let you know if he responds. Don't go throwing wood shavings all over your new apartment. This "kid" is a newborn baby. Might not ever even hunt a day in her life. It's just sort of a cool tradition that I buy this buddy's kid a call as a surprise gift (this is the fourth kid/custom call). I hope her dad gets his nuts cut after this one! Lol. Now that I haven't been to PM in I don't remember how many years, I'm out of the loop on call makers so I posted here amongst my real hunting pals. And other than one trapping site, this is the only forum I visit. (And factory calls just don't excite me, especially as a gift.) I sure don't want this to turn into a big deal. I'll get ahold of one. Thanks for the concern.

My apartment is upstairs from the shop.
We use these metal carts to roll parts and pieces of a job from one station to another... I was gonna plunk the lathe on one of them and do the job outside.

Don't know why? Every time I scan this forum title, i see what it says, but my mind reads: "PINK HANDCUFFS". I know, there is something major wrong with me, but I can't help it.

That would indicate that the rehab has gone well and the body parts are working somewhat properly again ??
I think that I have some J.C. reeds & the rods to insert them laying around somewhere. Let me know if you need a couple for this project.
