I eaten gator tail once or twice. But I'm not wading through those swamps for them either. They say some of those snakes are 20' long and 200 lbs.

Seems to me that there will be an increased `harvest` when there's a market for the meat and / or the skins.

Agreed.
No way to completely get rid of them now.
And, even if they did come close to eliminating them the wack-o's would likely tie it up in court.
The only question left is how far they will spread.

Here's a thought;
Take the pythons from Florida and put them in the Rio Grande to work for Border Patrol.
