Will a coyote slide on frozen ground and snow when running full out?
Running full out at 350 yards. -

I'm just wondering what weight bullet it takes to bump a coyote that far?

Also, I'm thinking this was the second of a double, and that she was running so fast because our favorite nimrod failed to utilize his silencer thingee? Otherwise, (I'm told) instead of running flat out, she would have been standing around, like waiting for the bus.

Also, I am watching the news; 13", 14", 27 deg. etc. etc. and thinking of our friends in Wyoming with those routine 14 foot drifts.

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: oh yeah, and on MSNBC, I'm watching the commie governor of New York declaring a STATE OF EMERGENCE while wearing a logo baseball cap, and with a light snow falling around his ears.

why am I watching MSNBC, you may ask? Well, because the lady who lives here needs to make a call and add FOX to her list of channels. That's the only reason!

That was a 60 grain Berger out of me 22x47. She was the 2nd of a pair and the guy with me had missed her once. It was interesting watching because she died instantly and her legs just simply folded, and then she slid, and slid, and slid.

Drilled her running straight away. Almost no challenge for a skilled marksman. (just kidding)

What is your opinion about terminal performance of the 60Berger versus the 62 that we can't get anymore?

Good hunting. El Bee

PS for that matter, how about the trajectory, is it flatter, is it faster, etc.?

Went to New Mexico 2 weeks back, hunted my hunting partners father-in-laws ranch, great place, lots of big open country, with snow still on the ground in many places.
Leonard wanted to know what kind of bullet it takes to dump a flat out running coyote at distance. Made my longest runner to date, a measured 245....it takes at least a 25 grain bullet at 3800 to get it done:)

....and how far did he skid?

Besides that, if you remember that time I was sitting beside a yucca within 50 yards of your foxpro with you diagonally on my right.

Coyote approaches blind to me behind the yucca, and stopped half way between me and the caller. I shoot, he's hit in the chest but doesn't fall, turns and runs off at a 45 degree angle.

Rattled, I send another round over his head and after he runs a little further, you killed him at what must have been 250, still running flat out?

Did you forget that one? I didn't. I think it was a 19 Calhoon?

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: I'm not positive, but I think the only "visible" damage on that coyote was what my 6mm did?

Not quite straight away. There was some angle there. I don't notice any difference between the 60 and 62 LB. I did try the 64s and my gun didn't like them as well.

I had one slide just shy of 80yards on a full out run, hit him hard at the top edge of a gully. I though he got away, but not a chance w/my shooting, found him on a small ledge over the side of that gully almost at the bottom. Red slider all the way down.
