I asked, in all sincerity, that you give me your opinion on my recent choice of the compact Springfield Armory Hellcat as a concealed carry choice?
It seems to be quite similar to what you currently carry, the Glock 43X. If you don't know anything about it because you are so in love with Glocks these days, that's understandable.
Just wondering? Because I hold your opinion in high regard.

The Hellcat is a great choice, Springfield makes fine pistols as you well know, you have one in 1911 as I do. I've only handled one like yours, but have shooting time with one. You'll be well served with your choice!

THANK YOU!
I'm really not surprised by your opinion.
Really, I said I'm a bit of a maverick, and dislike certain things just because everybody else is in love with it. I do not follow the popular trends. I'm independent!
And by the way, I own 3 Springfield handguns.
My current "carry" (until I get this Hellcat squared away) is a Seacamp 32ACP. The Winchester SilverTip must be one of the most expensive cartridges around? And, hard to find. But, the gun itself could almost be considered a work of art.

As predictable as the sunrise, ko ko!
Before he weighs in, I can offer my opinion, if you like? Your combo is very serviceable, if not truly great. The obvious fault is, due to those that know what it is, it might as well be open carry. However, for the average citizen, you look to be a completely innocent, kindly grandfather, lacking any discernible malice.
I remember seeing something recently about certain upgrades to the Sneaky Pete line. Looked very interesting, to me. at least. But, I don't remember what it involved? If you are content, I wouldn't bother. Right? Right!
Good hunting. El Bee
edit: Okay, I looked and yes they have a wide range of options, but all the same. I saw this item that I thought was serviceable and kind of clever. Maybe with your birthday coming up?

For some reason, that magazine digging into the hip looks like it might be a bit uncomfortable.
I've had only two people ask me about the holster and both of them were considering buying one which is how they recognized mine. The one time I was stopped by over-zealous security they were only interested in my Leatherman sheath that held a Leatherman with a (Gasp) knife blade. They never even mentioned the Sneaky Pete.

You guys must walk through a lot of dark alleys? or dangerous parts of town. Glad i don't have to walk around with hand on my hip and looking behind me every 4-5 steps. I remember when I was stationed in Texas, was told to stay out of the alleys so we did.

There are none so blind as he who will not see.
Actually, Safford is a pretty safe place. The good guys carrying out number the bad element. If I was walking down dark alleys and dangerous places I would be asking about the best way to carry a shotgun concealed.

Oh yeah? Well, so is Upland a sorta safe place, notably, we actually do not have alleys. OK one, one alley.
BUT, here we have this Minneesota person insinuating that Safford is much more dangerous than where he comes from. Stating an opinion. An unsupported opinion.
So, he doesn't have dangerous dark alleys in Minneesota, and even if he did have one, or two, he doesn't have to be constantly on alert with his hand close to his hip, in close proximity to a weapon. (I believe that is what he is inferring?) Maybe he doesn't remember not long ago where the George Floyd mourners burned down the fucking city of Minneapolis? That's different, right?
Believe me, if we had alleys and they were dark alleys, and if I had occasion to walk down one, you damned right, I would be on alert. So, this proves what, exactly? IDK? Besides, we have these security lights that pop on when they detect motion.
Good hunting. El Bee
PS besides, it is utter folly to make fun of those folks that are properly aware of their surroundings!

Was in Minneapolis like 3-4 years ago and just drove straight through on interstate. I'm not in habit to go visit shit holes where trouble brews. Most buildings still standing and think all they burned was their own homes on that deal.
How often do you guys hear a siren in your part of country? Gun shots?
We had one recruit in Texas he thought he could handle himself, so he walks through ally during daytime in San Antonio. He had a pocket full of those Ninja throwing stars and would kick troubles ass if he found it. Well, he found trouble alright and ended up tossing all his stars at bad guys just have them bounce off. Got his ass kicked good and afterwards got a discharge from service. LOL
I don't go looking for trouble but do carry few knives once in a while, trust me they never see one coming and don't care if they packing. [ November 26, 2024, 01:46 PM: Message edited by: TA17Rem ]

Oh yeah, I bought one of those Marine Corps fighting knives, just like the one used on those 4 students who were slaughtered in Moscow, Idaho. It's hefty, maybe about 7.5" long and 1 1/4" wide. It doesn't have any fittings for attaching to a rifle and used as a bayonet. But it is a handful and you can easily see where stabbing someone with it would ruin their day. It has a black coating on the blade, maybe like teflon? The handle has stacked leather washers and is wide enough for my hand with an inch and a half left over. It's about 3/16ths" thick with about a 3" blood groove.
If somebody came at you in a dark room, waving this thing around, you are going to get hurt. How fortunate the asshole left his DNA on the friggin' snap, otherwise this case would never be solved.
And, if a jury does not convict this creep, on some technical issue, you can bet that police department will never spend another minute on investigation, exactly like the OJ Simpson case where the LAPD has not spent another day investigating Nicole's murder. After all, it's unsolved....right? I really don't know exactly why the LAPD does not explain how why they have not pursued other leads in that double murder? I think we all know why? Simpson got away with murder because the LA DA fucked up and prosecuted the case downtown in a heavily black district instead of "all white" Westwood, where the murders occurred. The second stupid stunt was asking OJ to put on those gloves found at the scene, while wearing latex gloves! You try that sometime!
Where were we? I'm rambling again!

"Sirens ?? ....... Gunshots ????
Sadly, sirens usually mean that some dumbass who was driving 191 North too fast, thought that the Double Yellow Lines were only a suggestion that didn't apply to him and his big powerful machine that serves to compensate for his small dick.
or .............
Somebody was burning brush piles and ignored that "Before you light it ..... Be able to fight it" bit of wisdom.
Gunshots on the other hand, usually mean the guy down the road got something new and is shooting on the BLM land behind his house so I need to go see what he bought this time.
