Possumal Jr. went out this morning before daylight, just listened for a while before positioning himself for first light. One lonesome howl resulted in two coyotes coming into the big field he was watching. They used a drainage ditch to maneuver closer to his position, then to disappear several times. He finally took the shot at about 204 yards and put this nice female down. Never saw the other coyote again. Man they can use those ditches to their advantage. He is doing a good job with his Prairie Panther AR15.

Al, this is a no disrespect question. What's with the sunshade? Have you any idea how much they cut down available light transmission on an early morning stand? I see no practical application except in bright summertime conditions and even then, it's no help with mirage.
Besides that, our buddy DAA calls them, "levers".
But, good pic, thanks for sharing.
Good hunting. Lima Brav 0

Probably a throwback to his old pappy's preferences. I think a sunshade is a big advantage, especially sunrise and sunset. I have been blinded enough times without one. I am sure it cuts down on your light transmission, but it sure cuts down on that sun blinding you.

Leonard, forgot to add that it also helps keep snow or rain off your objective lens.
