No need to apologize, I just didn't understand the question.
A personal policy has evolved to the point where I hesitate to provide specific advice of a legal nature. You need to figure out where you can hunt legally, and do that by going to the Fish and Game Code. It will tell you which side of the street is allowed, and what methods and gear isn't allowed. Don't take my word for it. Protect yourself.
However, there are places where you can hunt at night in Southern California.
