which means nothing exciting happening the past two or three weeks. Good news is that I have not fallen or taken a serious crash. I damned near did just a couple days ago; got light headed and was able to fight it. Close but no cigar.

my appetite has improved a lot. My blood pressure the past week and a half has all been in the range of 102, 103, 107, etc over something in the 50’s or 60’s. That’s far better than the previous two or three weeks when all my readings were in the low 90’s.

I am sleeping a lot better these days, falling asleep before midnight. I sleep in, maybe get up at 7:30 but sometimes Idon’t roll out until 10:30-11:00. That’s about once a week.

I have a bad shoulder from that major fall I had, falling inside the walker. It’s not going away. just lately, I have some kind of nerve problem in my left leg. have no idea where that came from?

I get winded very easily. just pushing the walker from the living room to the bedroom wears me out, I need to rest for maybe 10 minutes. I keep meaning to count the steps because there is no frame of reference when I say I’m walking from my recliner to my bed. It’s further than it sounds, around obstacle's, etc.

I have a nice wheelchair, but only used it once, for a Dr appt. at the clinic.

My breathing is lousy, I get winded far too easily. Currently, I have had a serious change of attitude about shots. I’ve been thinking that if I catch the flu on top of what I have that could be extremely serious. So, I’m thinking about talking to the doctor and getting whatever he thinks I need. That’s a huge reversal from my previous attitude where I never got any shots, but this could be extremely serious if I were to contract some respertory flu or who knows what’s going around?

OK that’s all for now,
TTYL

Today, kind of a milestone. The 4 of us, if you include Pinky, we went to Riverside and Magnolia Bird Farm. I got winded in the store, pushing the walker so I sat on a sack of birdseed while my son went to the car and brought me the new wheelchair, which is a lot less strenuous. Neither my son or his wife had been to the facility and I’m sure that they found it interesting.

I am a fanboy of Magnolia Bird Farm if for no other reason than that they trim toe nails and professionally clip wing flight feathers.
AT NO CHARGE!

That alone is worth the 35 mile trip, one way. Not only, but you can’t find anyone locally to do the procedure, at any price! Anyway, it’s excellent customer relations.

It’s amazing the prices they are getting for hookbills. Almost all Cockatoos and Macaws I saw had prices around $6,000 and I didn’t see more than maybe 6, or 8 for sale, along with a bunch of parakeets and Lovebirds and cockatiels. I didn’t notice prices on the smaller birds. They had a pair of Toucans? bird with a huge banana shaped beak. Last time Iwas there, they had a big Hyacinth Macaw. They go for astranomical prices.

So, we walked out of there with 5 pounds of safflower @$8.50. the same amount on Amazon is $12 plus shipping. So, it was easily worth the trip.

My portable 02 quit working somewhere on the drive home. No surprise, I knew it would;can’t last 2 hours. I had a spare tank of oxygen but didn’t bother hooking it up.

However, the BIG mistake on the trip was in not bringing a blanket, to cover Pinky’s cage! He was so annoyingly loud, Icould have pushed him out into traffic. He is so fucking loud when he wants to be. But covering the cage usually shuts him up. I won’t forget a blanket next time! One that wouldn’t mind if he chewed a couple holes in it.

In other bird news .............
We had rain yesterday. Sometimes quite hard but mostly just standard issue rain.
What I found amazing was that even in the regular rain the Hummingbirds kept showing up at the feeders. [Eek!] How the Hell do those little wings fly in the rain ???? [Confused] The raindrops probably weigh more than the birds do.
And they come in under the patio roof to the feeders dry; not wet and raggedly.
Amazing birds !!!!

Oh yeah? Well, what about Pinky? He’s not CHOPPRD LIVER. you know? He was such a good boy while his nails were being clipped! I remember the HOWRL from Tillie when I cut a tiny bit off of her super long nails. You would have thought I cut it at the shoulder joint? What a BABY! Anyway, it’s over.

But I have watched my resident hummers endure the inclement weather and marvel at their ability to cope with nasty weather. They do know how to get out of the rain by perching under my roof. Even Tillie was smart enough to figure out the advantages of a roof.

And another thing. Tillie never used to crap on the decking! These new dogs take a dump in conspicuous places, including the decking around the pool! And, wouldn’t you know it, the POOL MAN stepped in it yesterday!

Just noticed that the lump over my left eye is a whole lot better. That it has required almost 3 months to subside is amazing. Of course, “it takes time” is the reason!

I just wish I had a few more hummers. Seems like 2 or 3 is all I can manage? You lucky fella!
