Topic: This morning, Heard a bark!?

I didn’t get to sleep until maybe 2? So it was close to about 10. Got up and Lenny and his gang was here already. Spent the night in Kingman. I heard two barks, turned out it was Lady which is practically a carbon copy of Tillie. When I opened the slider, I had four hound dogs trying to squeeze through a 10” opening. And they were all sopping wet, which I guess is understandable since crossing the Mojave in the back seat of a Toyota. They all jumped in the pool.
Then, (you know) I have never moved Tillies beds or her toys, and they all grabbed as many toys as they could get away with. My son then mentioned that they never give them toys because they fight over them, but there was more than enough to go around. So, they were all over the sofas, and they are still wet. I stressed with Page that she needs to teach all of them how to swim to the steps to get out because all dogs have a hard time climbing over the coping. They need to get oriented towards the steps. This ain’t a kiddy wading pool. you need to know how to swim because it’s 4 1/2’ to 9 1/2” feet under the diving board.
Anyway, the second commotion was when they noticed Pinky! Found out they have zero experience with birds, especially a bird that san rip your nose off!
Anyway, it’s been an exciting morning and I suspect, things will change pretty quick! Man, I hocked up a bunch of mucus, that’s good.
So, it turns out the they had two free nights at motels. The reason is because my son has spent so much time in motels while working in Illinois then spending weekends with his wife in Missouri and his built up so many points he was able to get one room for the dogs and one for him and his wife. They are all spoiled house dogs so all they care about is a soft bed to lounge on. Very little needs and they are all housebroken. I need to learn names! The only one I have memorized so far is “Lady” who is Tillie’s clone, she looks pure Bluetick. The others look like English Coonhounds although “Little Girl” is a Redtick, all her markings are tan and white. Magnolia is Tillie and Lady’s mother. I’m confused, at this point, but I will figure it out, and a big change it will be with a house full of dogs.
Lady was a little clumsy and upset my side table, which spilled my gateraid into my pill cup and spoiled all my morning medications, which I had not got around to taking, yet. So, they will settle down, just blowing off steam after a 2500 mile drive with 4 big dogs sharing one back seat of the Sequoia Toyota, which I’m told has 380,000 miles on it so far. He claims that Toyota’s are good for 500,000 miles, easy.
Anyway, Corey is busy showing son and wife what they need to do to take care of me, which is setting me up with pills and liquids at certain times, 3 times a day. Tell you the truth, I’m getting a kick out of the dogs, even though they don’t quite know what to make of me detached from everybody else in my recliner. They give me a greeting once in a while but mainly are hanging in the kitchen with the people while I’m by myself in another room.
So, that’s a reveal of day one of hereafter. We will keep timely bulletin's as this adventure rolls along. But, truthfully, I’m happy for the company with Son and his wife and their pack of spoiled coonhounds! I think it sort of cheers me up, the excitement and Lady is the loudmouth of the bunch, a good looking Bluetick that is Tillie’s sister, same mother different litter.
That’s it, you are all knowed up on the arrival!

Good to hear about you and the dogs.
Dogs are the best medicine.
So far we haven't found any kind of a dog for our replacement of ol' Gus. We had to put him down in December.

yes, this is true. After Tillie tragically died, poisoned by a Sago Palm, I have missed my buddy so very much and I’m quite tickled with these good natured Coonhounds. They are Grace, Little Girl, Lady and Magnolia. Lady is the Bluetick, Little Girl is the Red Tick. Grace and Magnolia look English Coonhound.
So, everybody is settled in. They have Tillie’s toys scattered all over. They like lounging on my living room sofas, I raised a small objection when one of them, The youngest, Lady got on the sofa after swimming in the pool. So, they shooed them off, which is the deal when it’s my sofa and they don’t even think about it. You know how that goes.
Lady just went after Magnolia over a fake bone that she had discarded. That’s her mother! So, Lady is the youngest and must be the most spoiled but it’s hard to tell. They treat all of theem as their children.
So, they set up the blowup bed upstairs. I don’t know who will be sleeping on it, but it’s a very good bed it has a aluminum frame and is quite comfortable, I have slept on it a couple times, so I know. What I don’t know is who will get it. My daughter is on the way, she should be here maybe in an hour or so. It’s an 8 hour drive from Marin Valley, north of San Francisco straight down I-5. I was just advised that she is 15 minutes away, so it will be good to see her.
So Corey and Shelley plan on leaving for home Friday. By then My son and his wife, (Page) should be fully briefed on requirements to keep me in meds and nebulizers and when to give me my pills and other stuff. It’s a serious responsibility, At this time I need constant care. And, believe me, when I don’t see somebody that I can count on, I PANIC! I have to see somebody! That’s my assurance. I don’t know, my “Buspar” or whatever the anti anxiety pill is called? I’ve been on it for a little over a week, and so far, I can’t say that it is working? Because I have a lot of anxiety, nothing has changed, so far? Hopefully, I will quit worrying about my condition and my next breath!
So, Shelley has not arrived yet, expect her shortly. I love my daughter to pieces! Actually, I have not seen my son in a long time either so it is a great day for me. His wife has been very nice to me, although I don’t know her very well. She’s from Mississippi and has that accent, interesting pronouncing of certain words, etc. Anyway, I’m happy and blessed to be surounded by my little family. If I wasn’t so sick, this would be wonderful!

I am glad things are looking good for you. Family
and yours in particular sound like a Godsend. I hope your recovery is swift and as good as complete as can be. And yes dogs are truly a great thing as they are nothing but total love. Wishing you the absolute best there Leonard. Stay strong mentally and the physical will come to you.

Yes, Walt. I have come to the realization that my family has “stepped up to the plate” for me and believe me; it’s touching and unexpected. You know, I never thought about this kind of situation before. Who could predict such a thing? But, there was no entreaty or begging or claiming that they must do their duty. No, it comes as a complete and refreshing surprise that I never would have dreamed of, certainly way beyond expectations, because I never had any expectations. Actually, I can’t believe how fortunate I am. And it’s not corny at all to say, many times how blessed I am to have such caring folks behind me. It’s just marvelous to think about the whole united effort!
Yeah, I know I’m laying it on a little thick, but it needs to be expressed. I want the whole world to know how lucky I am.
