I’m getting a little better. It’s very slow, and it’s discouraging. I have heard that I might not need ox¥gen forever? Right now, I’m sucking that tube 24/7. And also using the nebulizer several times per day, I’m inhaling albuterol and a saline solution at least 3 times a day. Packed in little waxy ampules. Hard to say what positive effect it has on my lungs. I probably just go through the motions?

in case a few of my friends got here late, I will give a little recap of what happened. This was over the 4th of July when I had this attack and went to emergency. I mean, I was in bad shape. They took X-rays followed by a CT scan. Kaiser uses CT scan a lot hardly ever the other one that the name escapes me right now. My memory and recall is shot!

Anyway, they came back a couple hours later and said that I have blood clots on both lungs. Well, what the hell does that mean? I don’t know, except they said that it happened once before in 2019 or 2022, I forget? So the doctor told me that I would have to be on blood thinners for the est of my life, and it is a rather big deal because now there is very little way to STOP bleeding, once it occurs. I guess the message is be real careful! Yes, I can do that.

So here we are in the middle of August and I have not put on real shoes, I’m in pajamas all day long and waited on hand and foot by my wonderful family. They have all pitched in, flying down from the Bay area and my grandson stayed with me for over 3 weeks. During that time, I have made 4 separate trips to EMERGENCY, staying about n3 days each time, calling 911 because the time that my daughter took me down, I had to suffer with the crowd so I learned that 911 brings the paramedics and they get you right in.

So, I have not see a bill yet. My daughter and son in law are doing my bills. I am simply not able to concentrate on that stuff at the present time.

My son messaged this morning that they were as far as Oklahoma from Missouri where they were living. He quit his job and will come out and move in with me. in lue of me going to a nursing home, which I definately did not want to do. So, he packed up wife and his 4 hound dogs, loaded up the Toyota suv and he is towing a trailer with some household goods.

I want to acknowledge that everybody has gone way out of their way to help me.Aaron, my grandson spent 3 weeks here while I was in the hospital, from his home in Colorado springs. My daughter is driving down today and maybe my son will be here about Thursday. He will take over carding for me, him and his wife, Page.Yeah, she spells it funny. Anyway, we will have a houseful for a day or so until my son learns the routine; which is not easy, at all. All the damned pills and nebulizers and everything else that needs to be done.

All the pills and other stuff has to be set up, I cannot do it myself. At least at the present. I have all I can do to breathe regularly! I kid you not! This is just terrible for me. They say it will get better, but IT TAKES TIME! I hear that ALL THE TIME! I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy!

I have two urnals, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. Every time I think I need to pee, by then it’s too late to make it to the bathroom, so I use the urnal, at least half the time and almost all night, in bed. Otherwise, I risk a fall. Which I have fell 4 or 5 times. This last time, I somehow came down very hard and kicked to floor with my right foot. It is a mess! all swelled up and black and blue. I have been applying something called Aspercream. It has a little Lydocane in it and seems to help the swelling but it’s a black and blue

Okay, I’m done for now

That Albuterol can have a side effect like way too much caffeine. My wife takes it but only when she really needs it.

Hang in there !!!!

Damn Leonard, bro, you really be careful with those falls. Easy for me to say but falls are the biggest danger us old duffs have to face. My favorite aunt, the one that owned a small ranch up in the Tehachipis or how ever you spell it. Died from a simple fall that broke her hip and one thing led to another. So be careful and mindful of where things are you can grab ahold of and if you feel that wierd dizziness come over you SIT DOWN,even on the floor.
You will survive the blood thinners and those bloodclots are worrisome .Ive had my left leg replumbed from thigh to lower calf and my right leg feels a bit weird,we will see.
You have a wonderful family as you must have done something right. Take care and do be mindful of falling it's bad juju.

Hey Walt! Thanks for the words. I truly appreciate your thoughts.

You know, as far as family, it has been truly a revelation the way my family has stepped up to the plate, so to speak, for me. My son is about half way here, he and the wife and 4 hound dogs spent the night in Oklahoma, somewhere, didn’t say where and I don’t even know if they slept in the car or what but they will be here at least in a couple days and I can’t wait to see them. I’m sure a houseful of coonhounds will cheer me up, if anything will, and Believe me, I am depressed about my condition. Especially after losing Tillie this past May. I miss her terribly!

Anyway we will have a full house, and that’s fine. You know, my grandson came here and stayed for 3 weeks while he has a wife and daughter back in Colorado Springs. But he says he owes me for (he says) practically raising him! Well, we helped, that’s for sure, but he’s a fine young man and I’m very proud of him- a wounded warrior, by the way, Iraq.

Of course my daughter is driving down from the Bay Area tomorrow morning and I can’t wait to see her again. Her husband, Corey has been doing everything, feeding me, setting out all my medications and he has been here the past 3 weeks, which is the second time since July.

But I couldn’t believe that my son just up and quit his job and they are in transit right now. He and his wife and their hounds will live with me forever, since they say that I need constant care. Believe me, I am totally grateful that he and her are making this life long commitment for me. It is humbling to know that they are making this sudden and life altering commitment for me. Completely unexpected! Kinda chokes me up, talking about it, they love their PaPa! Can’’t ask for much more than that. I am truly BLESSED! Makes me want to cry, I kid you not! It’s humbling. The way everybody has made the effort to help and keep me out of a friggin’ nursing home! I can never thank them enough! Nobody let me down and I am so appreciative, I can’t even express how much I love them all for all their love and help. It’s truly extraordinary!
