Actually, a bit of improvement. I have gone a day and a half without serious labored breathing. It’s very strenuous attempting to breathe, takes effort, in and out. Not automatic,and there is the constant phlegm that is very bothersome.
I tried to sent a message to ko ko with a photo but he DOESN’T accept email, not sure if it’s because of the photo or something else? But, it was the first time I got a look at my face and it was shocking, wanted to share it, but he’s apparently too afraid of internet boogeymen to accept my text?
Other than that good news, not much to share, oh yeah, first bowel movement in at least 4+ days. So that was noteworthy. I have trouble swallowing these big oblong white chalky tablets and always have several twice a day. I hate it, they lodge in my throat for 2 or 3 swallows. Nothing comes easy, these dats.
That’s about it, I know that I’m getting better, at least the feeling, but it’s extremely fatiguing to do anything like taking my walker to the bathroom, which I really must do. I had my cane when I fell on my face and smashed my glasses into my face. Anyway, I actually saw it for the first time, and it was shocking! I sent a photo to lots of people and only ko ko’s needless cautions or safeguards didn’t accept. Everybody else’s went through except his, so this guy has some kind of bulletproof safeguards against pictures, I guess?
All for now. I sure hope I recover, but all I hear is: IT TAKES TIME, it takes time! meanwhile I continue to suffer. Never heard of anything like this happening to anybody? It sure is a shock- eye opening, to say the least.

I turn it on about once a month to check the battery, It stays out in the truck, shut off most of the time. I don't do text. My watch is analog and the silver / turquoise band is worth more than the watch. This computer that I just barely know how to sorta use is about as high tech as I get. I even shoot Traditional archery. (Men's Master Class, Senior)
Eventually I'll move into this century but it will be kicking and screaming the whole way.

Dang KoKo you sound like me. I don't even own a phone and this computer is way to technical for me. The wife says I lived under a rock in Nevada
The wife has a phone and thats how you can get ahold of me but I read the little screen on it and if I don't recognize the name wont touch it, She got me a flip phone disposal thing and I told her they don't work where we lived and was useless out in the brush.And it was,file 13 is where it ended up. I do keep her number in my wallet, that's always in the car, in case I need to call her or write it down on paperwork. Can't remember the number.

controlled burns are good. fewer wildfires then.
The CRP here is burned off or part of every two years or so. you should see boys work when they do a controlled burn, most of time looks like they have the fire on a leash and only burns where they want it to burn.
Up north the wood ticks are real bad and a controlled burn would do them some good.

Most of the wood ticks here are found in CRP and in the woods. A good fire kills many of the little fuckers off.
Up north the moose and deer are covered with them during summer.
I did a job up north years back and a local girl that was working with us said don't go into the woods if you need to take a piss, the ticks will get you. Lyme disease not a good thing to get from them.

I'm kind of out of the loop here at home on somethings. I just found out my sister and her Husband moved to Washington state to live closer to my nephew. Brother in-law works for park services and Nephew works for DNR and his wife works at a park as well. They said its ok if Koko wants to move back.

That would be The Wet Side. When I was in Olympia we were averaging 65" of rain a year.
Eastern Wash. is referred to as Western Idaho because;
(1) It's high desert like Idaho,
and
(2) They don't want to be associated with the liberal I-5 Corridor that runs thru Calif, Ore & Wash.
Clear as mud, eh ??

How's it going Leonard? I do hope all is well and you are improving. Would really not like seeing you fall apart along with this site. It's the only coyote site I go on and would miss the banter and BS we have here if anything happened to you.

Thank you for your kind thoughts!
Things are kinda, sorta improving….as far as my breathing. And, that is a VERY BIG DEAL, make no mistake! I’m “nebulizing” like crazy and the pain level is down, usually! That’s the effect when I take a deep breath-followed by pain in my chest and followed by a cough, which is a reaction that is spontaneous, you might say.
So that part is a blessed relief. I still feel an unpleasant sensation but it’s tolerable and not actually painful. I WILL TAKE IT! Over what I have been enduring the last couple of months.
Something that keeps happening is fainting spells. Just last night I was carefully walking (inching, actually) between my elevated bed and my dresser when I got all wobbly and fell at the foot of the bed. Corey was right there, sitting in a chair, but it happened too fast for him to do anything. Now, my fort, might be called the instep/ THAT PORTION BETWEEN YOUR ANKLE AND YOUR TOES, (oops)
So, when I fel I somehow kicked the carpet, must have been rather hard because that part of my right foot is all swollen and my second and third toes are black and blue….and of course, they hurt, a lot! It really looks gross and it’s painful to walk. And almost all my walking is behind a “walker”, but it is parked at the foot of the bed. That’s what I was reaching for when I went down.
Then: It must have looked like a couple of Sumo wrestlers, But only me was shirtless as he tried to haul me to my feet. Actually, no. I forgot, he told me to lay there for a while, don’t know if it was 1 minute or maybe 3? But it was a little stupid looking while he tried to haul me to my feet; and I was no help at all.
I fell 2 or 3 other times yesterday, but one was misjudging where the stool was behind me and I tried to sit with only one buttcheek hitting the stool, so this pitched me sideways on the floor, Totally careless, on my part, but I did have two other kinda staggers while walking without the walker. I found out that there is no hand holds in the kitchen granite countertop- slick, not a damned thing to hold on to, to break my fall. But it wasn’t too bad, I didn’t break anything or start bleeding. Although I have plenty of scabs and bandaids, mostly on my arms.
I’m having some logistic problems getting my medications. Corey today went to the Rancho facility because online it said they were open until noon, but the were not. So, he was able to go to the Ontario 24 hour pharmacy and get my nebulizer medication, which I think is albuterol? And that shit really helps my lungs, followed by a Saline solution. The whole process seems to take at least 30 minutes, I guess depending on how vigorous I inhale it.
All I hear is: IT TAKES TIME! Yeah, it does seem to take time. Like I said, I’m incrementally better. But, Like last night, I struggled to sleep and finally dozed off somewhere after 3am. It’s been an ordeal every night.
I just started taking something called Buspar, I think? It’s an anti-anxiety prescription medication. A low dose. It’s because I’m afraid to fall asleep, I think I have a mental issue? I don’t mind saying so, I’m really confused and disoriented and the situation seems hopeless-although they tell me that I san recover, but….IT TAKES TIME! I’m fearful, of what, I am not sure? I have been barefoot, in pajamas since the 4th of july. I have a urinalysis in the living room beside my recliner and another one at my headboard where I can reach it if I think that I can’t make it to the bathroom. I use both of them, depending on whether I think that I can make it to my bathroom. However, I have pee’d down my leg enough times that I have to wash them a couple times already.
Taking a shower is very difficult, I’ve only had 2 since the 4th of July. I use these little throw away toothbrushes that they use in combat. they are only about 4 inches long, and I can do it in my chair. Standing at the sink, as we all do is very stressful, I need to sit down as much as possible, so those mini toothbrushes really come in handy.
Folks, this is by far the most difficult endeavor I have ever experienced! It’s just terrible, with very little positive, no bright side.Yet, they say that I might recover and not need oxygen at some point. Maybe so, but I have those tubes up my nose 24/7!
This is rambling a bit much, I know. I’m very sorry, but it’s kinda like good therapy for me. Corey just brought me asmall bean and cheese burrito and I will give it a try. Hardly ever finish a meal, sometimes it goes untouched.

Leonard, please don't apologize for your updates and expressing your concerns.
I feel pretty comfortable saying that all of us reading the updates are interested in your condition, the challenges you're facing, and the progress you are making.
It's good to see you bright as can be and keeping us posted.
I know how painful a foot injury can be and please be careful moving around.
I have to pass on a bit of an appreciation (and a Joe story....) for some of the detail you gave regarding your cockatoo a couple of weeks or so ago elsewhere on this fprum.
Years ago I had a drop-dead beautiful girlfriend who had two cockatiels (the chihuahua of the bird world) and some sort of giant green parrot.
She had to take a business trip somewhere so I was stuck bird-sitting.
I had the parrot cage behind the couch and a ladder walkway down to the back of the couch. Sitting there snacking on some sort of coffee cake the bird would climb down to the couch and make a noise like a rapid "berk-a-berk", sort of in the form of a question and I'd peel him off a bit of coffee cake.
He'd take that back up the ladder, eat it, then return with the "berk-a-berk" question.
We cycled thru this multiple times until I ran out of coffee cake. At that point the bird stayed on the back of the couch, "berk-a-berking" more insistently every 10 seconds or so.
I turned to tell him to "fly" off and he pecked/whacked me on the forehead so hard it all but knocked me out. I wound up with a vertical bruise, cut, and knot right in the middle of my forehead and some discoloration down the bridge of my nose and to the corners of my eyes, looking for all the world like I had been whacked with a crowbar...
The next day at work I was training a group of Japanese customers (who had met my girlfriend the week before) and the subject of what had happened to me came up.
I figured a simple "my girlfriend's parrot whacked me" passed through the lady interpreter would explain things easy enough, but something went terribly terribly wrong....
I could hear my girlfriend's name mentioned several times and as the Japanese got more and more animated the lady interpreter got redder and redder and eventually left the room. At a certain point I started getting all kinds of handshakes and pats on the back, for who knows what.
Eventually the back patting died down and the interpreter returned but she would never tell me what went wrong with the translation.
All I know is that Mary was involved, I split my head open doing it, and the old boys must have been proud of me judging by all the leers, jeers, and back-patting going on.
Mention of the cockatoo stirred up that somewhat -forgotten 40+++ year old memory! And a smile!

Thanks for sharing that, Joe! Never had anything like that happen to me? I have had quite a few parrots, and Love Birds and Lorries. Pinky is quite a charector. He’s about 20 years old and I found out that Cockatoos live a life span of 75-80 years! I will have to decide who gets him in the will!!!At least I hears that Moluccan Cockatoos live that long and that’s what Pinky is. I love him!
