This adventure started two days ago I was leaving my recliner and heading to the bedroom for somwrging. I had one of my handmade canes made of mesquite, but it didn’t help me much.

So I fainted, actually for the third time. The first two, I had large wounds on both arms and bothe happened in the bathroom, getting up from a sitting position,

But, this time, I was about 20 feet past the chair when I blacked out suddenly and fell on my face, forward. And, I really fell hard, first to make contact was the left side of my forehead. Almost immediately, I swelled up, a huge knot on my forehead, and it got scary big, Before long, my eye was closed and it got scary. We talked it over, my grandson and me and decided to call 911.

Pretty soon, there were about 6 paramedics in my bedroom, and they had a difficult time carrrying me out and to an ambulance .

I had a conversation with them about where to go, me thinking Kaiser, but they said it wasn’t a trauma center so they went to pomona hospital. They did an X-ray and a CT scan, the Kaiser called and asked for their patient, so I went in another ambulance By now, I figured my charges were really adding up because I’m in the gray area between loaded and totally dependent on the taxpayers.

But now it was mid morning of the next day and they already called ahead and I had room 415 assigned even before I got here, and that’s where I am now 2 1/2 days later.

I have been rubbing my eyewitness my finger dipped in my water cup since I got here, really scared that my eye was completely swollen shut. I’m haveing a hard time with the keyboard because my glasses were smashed on my face and I have a spare pair and the aren’t too good.

Anyway, I was able to open my eye this morning, and theat was a huge relief ; I thought maybe I had injured it, worried to death!. But wiped some caca off my leg gadget and helped me back in bed and here I am with the swelling having gone down, I was able to open my eye this morning, Can’t tell you what a huge relief what was. But the swelling has gone down and now they are trying to figure out the fainting, and won’t let me out of bed.

Of course after 4 days without a bowel movement, it came the urge very suddenly. Now, I called and asked for help but it was urgent so I got up and “sprinted” to the bathroom. I made it about half way, left spore and continued, being held back by some air tubing attached to my legs for swelling. so, I tugged and snapped the connection and was able to sit down for the last art. I had to

I see thatrequest buttwipes from a mobility tech for some butt wipes, and after I was done, she

I see that I’m all over the place with this modern TABLET that does things I do’nt intend to do but as I’m only a little better off with my vision with these old glasses, I’m just winging it.

Aaron has been staying here in the room with me and finally went home an hour ago to change and feed Pinky, my cockatoo. So, I’m alone, and he was a tremendous help, dumping urine bottles, and taking care of my food tray, and catching things from the staff that I missed, and I missed a lot.

So, here we are, and I guess they might send me home tomorrow? But I am alone and realize how much he helped me, staying overnight and sleeping in a cot in the room. He has been a godsend, for sure. I can’t believe he left his wife and daughter and flew down from Colorado Springs totake care of me! What a sacrifice for his PAPA. I will never forget it.

Of course my daughter is beside herself, she flew down at fires for 10 days and the Corey, her husband stayed with me for about 15 days until AARON GOT HERE.

I may have mentioned to my so is quitting his job and intends to be here with as much household as he can manage in a trailer. He will move in with his wife, Page and their four spoiled coon hounds. Should be interesting!

But I am finding out how much my family cares for me and believe me, it is humbling and very touching. I hope I recover and can live a fruitful life with a houseful of coonhounds and a caring so. His wife, I guess will be feeding me and maybe giving me my pills, etc,

Should be interesting. Thanks, to the Peanut Gallery for your support! I truly appreciate it. Now I have to delete hundreds of spam from my phone that I have not even turned on for ever since the fall.

Take care.

I am very glad you survived your falls. Us old people do not do well when we fall. But you obviously raised some wonderful kids with a proper mindset. You should deservedly be proud and I personally salute you on your family. I read this stuff you write and it honestly pains me to read about it all. I guess in some way I must care.
Mend well and be home to enjoy life Leonard. We all have you in our prayers and hope all turns out well.

Are they going to keep you in the hospital until they figure out the fainting or let you go home and hurt yourself again ????

Beginning to get a bit concerned.

WOW! Is all I can say. After fainting on Dec 18 twice trying to get to the bathroom. Having to go NOW! It isn't fun.
I ended up in the hospital one day in the ER and 3 days in another hospital 4 hours away. Took 2 bags of blood they put a port thingy in my neck couldn't find a vein anywhere dehydrated. A bag of medicine every 10 hours for 72 hours to heal my ulcer that caused the internal bleeding. I had a hour ride in the first ambulance and 4 hours in another due to weather and they shut all flights down.
Living out is nice until an emergency happens.
Good luck LB get well.

Man Leonard, you’re really having a go of it. Hang in there and let your family take care of you. As a Child or grandchild there’s nothing like watching your Father/ Grandfather having aging medical problems, they love you and want the best for you. Take care and heal up. Don’t push yourself.
