Just saw on my home page that he has passed away.
Great singer / songwriter.
Outspoken and ........ shall we say 'controversial'.
R.I.P.

I don’t know what you are talking about, ok ok? ( look what auto correct does with “ko kok”). I missed it before posting this communication. and it just did it again! Stubborn little bitch, is my auto correct!

I thought the title referred to a recent assassin? Whois this and why should we be concerned?

There has been a much higher than normal local commentary about coyote sightings in my neighborhood recently. I’d say something on the order of maybe 4X the usual accounts of coyote encounters and sightings. Reports of repeated sightings in urban settings, in and around the city, not out in the boondocks. I saw a photo of a bobcat in a front yard, not half a mile from me. My pool man took it, just north of my house.

What’s the attraction? who knows? But this is about right in the middle of normal sightings of coyotes every year, right about this spring time, you know, pups are out of the den. But, we don’t actually see pups. Young adults, mature but seldom with pups. These are animals that know their way around and have been in the city before, usually at night. And that’s the thing, all the recent flood of coyotes in front yards have been in broad daylight.

They have always been on the bold side, but this season seems maybe 50% over normal? Just thought y’all would want to know!

Good hunting. El Bee

David Allen Coe was an over the top singer / songwriter who wrote, among other numbers, the Tanya Tucker classic Would You Lay With Me In A Field Of Stone ?
He cultivated an outlaw / biker / bad-ass image with a bit of racist thrown in.
Definitely a talented complex individual.

Good Hunting

I hear & sometimes see coyotes in the heart of Scenic Safford. They tend to follow the railroad tracks thru town; access to pet food, stray cats, water & cover. Most people just mistake them for half grown German Shepherds running loose. Actually, a pretty good set-up.

There was a recent article in, I believe The Gila Herald about a sow bear & cubs sighted in town.
Javelina in the shrubbery are not unknown, either.

Did I mention that I like it here ???? [Cool]

Well, it should have been obvious but lately while driving and dropping my daughter off at ONT airport, There is a railroad track that runs right next to the airport property. It’s a great little island in the middle of the city yet isolated and lots of cover for coyotes. I don’t know why that obvious shelter escaped my observation, but it did until recently. Actually, there is a huge switching facility in nearby Colton and I bet coyotes have staked it out. But, it’s an open secret that airport grounds are practically coyote central with lots of rabbits. They are all over the place after dark and here come the coyotes that easily outrun the rabbits. It’s a perfect ecosystem, just about as perfect as any golf course. In fact, I know that there are people that are contracted to thin out the coyote population in and around Griffith Park where there is the observatory and the Zoo and a golf course. That combo is guaranteed to raise bumper crops of coyotes every season. I know one of the guys that used to do it very late at night with tiny tiney 17 caliber suppressed rifles. Don’t know if he still does, but somebody does; kind of confidential, the weak misinformed ladies around town would not approve.

To say David Allan Coe was controversial would be an understatement. I saw him once singing at a biker party. He reportedly was a member or honorary member of the Outlaws MC. My favorite song of his was "You Never Even Called Me by My Name".

Man! I could really Relate to those new lyrics: I got drunk the day my mom got out of prison!

He sure has that old fashioned CW twang! But, I never heard of him? Reminds me of that classic: “the wonder horse is dead!”
Don’t know why?
