I think we've been invaded by the Easter Bunnies kids!
Haven't seen a cottontail all winter.
All of a sudden they are everywhere around the place. And they want to run over you!
A lot of running here and there packing nesting material and a lot of who is chasing who.
I may be glad that most of my garden will be in greenhouses. Going to have to fence off some of the beds once the kids arrive.

Down here we got grasshoppers ........... Noticed them one afternoon and the next day most of my garden deco plants were gone. Only things spared were prickly pear, barrel cactus and Mesquite trees.
The Palo Verde seem to be ok, also.
Seriously, the ground's alive with these things.
Could be a sign of the coming end times. ![[Eek!]](eek.gif)

I got 4 in my yard, they are going hard at it tonight. Ever see a bunny smile???

Maybe on the smile?
I know 3 of the bunnies have split ears. Don't know if its fences or cats causing the problem.
I figure by the end of April should be fun with some of the kids exploring the place.

I am too late in my guessing. First batch of babies showed up yesterday. Mom(s) are working on batch 2 already.

We used to have a domestic rabbit across the street, who was previously restricted to their back yard. which was secure, unless some kid left the gate open and then, we had a neighborhood bunny. I don’t know how long lived are these domestic rabbits, but he was around for many years, at least ten? But, as with neighborhood cats, the coyotes eventually get them all. There are no cats in this neighborhood, at all. Next door, they had two cats that were indoor cats. I know this because on rare occasions I would see one of them standing in the grass beside the owner, afraid to move in such an intimidating environment. 2 minutes later, they would be picked up and brought inside. So much nature is overwhelming for an indoor cat, I think? Anymore, I do not know why the coyotes bother, because they thinned out the cat population years ago, and nobody lets their Pug out in the front yard. In fact, there is only one dog you will see out front. It is a Bluetick Coonhound. She recognizes boundaries and stays on my roperty, and is usually on a long leash that is not able to be wrapped around anything. Other than one Coonhound, all other dogs will bark at walkers by from the other side of a gate. 90% of the time, Tillie will also be barking from the other side of a gate.
WE hardly see possums any more. There are two gray squirrels that ride my back wall, I don’t know where they sleep?
So much for the nature report, locally.

The old place on our south side sold. And the new owner (local guy) has went to town cleaning the place up. Tore down several buildings plus an old barn waiting to collapse. Not sure how many bunnies came over? Just hoping no packrats show up.

Down this way, when somebody has an old building to come down they often enter it in the 'Burn To Learn' program. The Firefighters get some controlled experience and it becomes a social event for the neighbors to Shake & Howdy. Win - win !!!
The quail are pairing up and should do well with all of the grasshoppers they've had to eat. Now, all we need is rain.
