Got to the part where I had to subscribe for $4.00 to read the rest of the story.

Here's a thought, though; If you're not out in the middle of the street showing your support for felons in this country illegally by rioting & being stupid, you probably wouldn't be frightened by those scary law enforcement people. [Eek!]

But, yeah. I agree. The camo look does have a bit of a para-military vibe to it. They would look way cooler with a Roman Centurion outfit.
[Cool]

I spent 6 months TDY on Eglin AFB in 1962-63. We used to kid Airforce people as wearing Bus Driver uniforms, not military at all. We never had any camo, it was called HBT which was short for Herring Bone Twill, and Army OD which stood for Olive/Drab. All things considered, it was a useful utilitarian color that blended with the flora. If it snowed, as it did in Europe, we had our TA21 parkas and Micky Mouse boots and the wool class A uniform which was mandatory in Korea. Nobody wore any civilian clothes in South Korea. Not allowed.

Anyway, I never understood why they waited so long to transition to camo as uniform of the day. They didn’t phase out tropical Kackies until I was out but we still had Bermuda shorts and long socks, although I personally never wore them as uniform of the day. Worn with Low Quarters. DRess shoe.

Actually, just thinking about it, although we still wore OD Field Jackets, they were just phasing in the Woodland Green (Camo) Field Jacket when I got out. This is called, in Army talk: “Separated” I do not know the rule now but it used to be a 7 year obligation, combined active and reserves. At that point is when you actually were DISCHARGED. That word is totally misused. There are ways you can get a general discharge but that’s not good, cannot be converted to HONORABLE. The actual word was, maybe still is section 208 general discharge and that’s when they kick you out as a fuckup, no privilages like Veteran benefits, GI loans and medical, Veterans status, etc. If you get a 208, it’s like you never served, as far as I know?

So, that’s all you ever wanted to know about the history of the Army uniform, besides the Class A Greens.

You referring to Airforce dress wearing the blues we called it. That's just that its dress uniform like civilian suite. We also wore utility uniforms which would be the green drab color, or desert camo, or jungle green camo and also the tiger jungle green uniform. I still have one of each. We also wore a waist length jacket; dark blue made of some durable nylon or something like that. 3 types of hats the blue dress flat top hat, green utility baseball cap and a blue beret. Security wore beret and waste jacket. plus, we had the field utility jackets in green or all the other camo patterns.

As for ICE, Swat, ect. they just wearing their utility uniforms.
In news the shoulder belt the ICE commander worn and many said that's what a Nazi wears which they also did but does not make him a Nazi.
That shoulder belt just part of uniform and been around long time. My father used same belt when he was M.P. and when he worked at Fort Leavenworth prison.
I have a picture of my dad when he was in school wearing similar shoulder belt which was part of school uniform back at that time. We were Nazi's before Nazi's even existed. LOL
School uniform today is baseball cap on backwards or sideways and pair of baggy pants hanging below there ass with their boxers hanging out... LOL
