Just got back from Salt Lake and what I found pretty sad is flying over the Rockies and all along the Wasatch. There is hardly any snow. Those mountains should all be at least covered by now but it looks like summer. The ski resorts are bust and where we were staying in Farmington with a beautiful view of the Wasatch you could only see snow on the highest peaks. Gonna be a bad year for water out west.Hope the fires don't wipe out whats left. And wherever we went we only saw a few roadkill deer where we usually always saw plenty. Gonna be bad for the game and other critters also. Too sad.
Back here in TN it is raining but not really very cold. So goes I guess.

We have some snow up on Mt. Graham but overall it's been below ave. snow / rainfall for many years now.
All of the game populations around here are down.

Grrr! That’s what CLIMATE CHANGE does to the faithful! If you had used fewer plastic straws, maybe the snow and rain we need would be more predictable and things would get a lot more Hunky Dory?

Environmentalists have been preaching for years that unless we have a strong PLASTIC BAG POLICY, we are in for many successive years of drought and pestilence! It’s not like we have not been warned! You people never learn! Progressives have the answers if we would only listen!

You have to worry about those failing SKI RESORTS when there’s no snow. Never mind when there is no snow to melt in the spring! Next time we should listen when Greta screams: How Dare You! Damn! This looney chick is nuts; and homely as a mud fence! Beside the point! Listen to the message; we gotta do something!

Have you ever met an ENVIRONMENTALIST that wasn’t passionate about earth stuff? Anything that happens reinforces the message! We need to do something!

Am I being clear? Thank you!

Good hunting. El Bee

we have some rain and snow on the way and one week of sub temps. I was starting to get use to 40-50 degree winter temps. Nice for night calling.

As for deer report I heard deer season in my area was not so good. Not sure if the herd size is down or just a shortage of big bucks.
Cant blame it on the wolves as we don't have them this far south. I saw many road kills this year so I guess we could blame it on cars. should we put a season on cars and wipe them out completely or just only allow them in big cities???

Here in Utah it really seems that the seasons have shifted a bit in recent years. When I was growing up it seemed like we started getting snow the first part of November winter started strong by first of December and we were done by end of February.

Spring usually started in first of March until the end of May. Then summer was from June-August and Fall first of Sept.-Nov.

Now we don’t get snow until mid December but it lasts until end of March. And spring weather usually lasts until damn near the 4th of July. Then summer doesn’t end until first of October and fall is strong until December. Weird weather indeed. I think they were skiing in early May last year.🙄

Good Hunting Chad

Meanwhile, the snowpack in the Truckee Pass, same as when the Donner party got stranded all winter. Anyway, they usually average over 600 inches. Let’s see? that’s at least 50 feet. Takes all summer to melt. This is the Sierra’s, Bucko! The Sierra Nevada coastal range might not be quite as high as the Rocky’s, not sure? But those are some serious mountains, and the hunting is tough. Come to think of it, Mount Whitney is higher than any mountain in the Rockies. And, besides, our trees are bigger and badder.

Good hunting. El Bee

PS when I used to hunt the eastern Sierra above Bridgeport, we used to get the first snowstorm the first or second week of OCTOBER! F&G didn’t like the odds in our favor so they changed the season and made it a difficult draw. Always limiting the odds. I got sick of it.

Told my daughter what I saw in the mountains and what she told me was interesting. Anyways. what she said is that they have been seeding clouds and changing the weather patterns. That was to me interesting and maybe something to it. I don't know. BUT ,,,I am with Leonard and have sworn off plastic straws and plastic bags. So.... No more China Mart shopping, They use plastic bags, and now it's everything from Aldes (sp) because they don't cater to that plastic bag generation and I have seen the light. Kinda like I have dream of a pristine wonderful world full of Greta's fighting the good cause. I better go have a whiskey and gloat on being so concerned about it all.
Thank you Leonard I do see the light now and I must apologize to the world and all my brothers and sisters on what an asshole I have been over my lifetime of not listening to the new found truth they have been preaching for so many years.. People of the world WAKE UP!!! Ah crap I just fell off my soap box

Central Idaho is real scary right now. Only snow is above 8500 ft.
And there isn't much. We had more snow and cold temps in October.

Things better change or it's another long summer of smoke.
