Follow along: My daughter, lives in the Bay Area sends me a photo of a full grown male coyote! Photo taken by the lady across the street. I don’t know what is the attraction, they ate all the neighborhood cats a long time ago?
So I have been giving Tillie a hard time, sleeping on the job, getting fat while coyotes roam casually down the middle of the street!

Travel-ways ......... They're just walking down the street, no fear of people. Over here, they walk the RailRoad tracks right thru town.
Once a coyote loses it's fear of people ....... you know the rest.

Not sure about elsewhere but long as you don't corner a coyote it won't fuck with you. I been in a few concrete road pipes and snow dens with few coyotes, never had one lunge out at me. Did have one that wanted to run by me and get the hell out of there, but my dog stopped him short. When i have coyote bayed up and walk in i just say dogs back and they stand behind me at the ready till i fire one shot from pistol.
That reminds me now one of reasons I would like to have a suppressor, dogs don't like gun fire, some get used to it and some don't so I just use a pistol and C.B. shorts.
P.S. you tell Tilly if she meets a coyote no ass grabbing or she get fucked up.

Yeah, I don’t know about that? But, at the dog park, she don’t suffer no fools. It makes the PEOPLE think she’s the aggressor but she is just standing up for dog ettiquite?
My other coonhound, Red was a Redbone. I took her out one time on a stand and she was patrolling around in front of me and then I saw her stiffen up and looking behind me, but to the side a little bit. Then she took off before I could do anything and she was in hot pursuit of 3 full grown coyotes, and effectively blocking my shot. Screaming finally brought her back, all proud of herself.
She paid me back on the next stand because I left her in the truck. When I came back she stood on the button and locked me out. I don’t know what I would have done if I had not found a piece of baling wire in the sand. Of course, she tried to help me by interfering with my efforts to unlock the damned door!
That was the last time I ever thought a dog was useful on a coyote stand. There is a certain writer that talks coyote hunting and annoys me greatly by referring to a STAND as a SET. I mean it offends me! He means well, but that shit is uncool.

And isn't it amazing how out there in the brush if you find you need a piece of bailing wire all you really need to do is look around, seems you will find some. Strange but true.
I also find myself offended when someone calls a stand a set. It is just irritating to me and makes me think the person is of low IQ as Trump would say.

Besides the STAND vs SET crap, I cringe when I hear hunters refer to coyotes as 'yotes or dogs. I believe these idiots think it makes them sound cool. Coyotes are not 'yotes and are definitely not dogs!

Many of fence lines in my area have been removed and property marked with white Conduent pipe, 3"-4", or just grass line is left or small ridge. Many have also gone to big round bail with either twine string or netting or plastic wrap. Once in a while hay be shipped in from out west some place, they use wire. the straw bales I buy for dog's plastic twin is used.
