Willcox Az. celebrated another Rex Allen Days.
Swap meets, gun show, parade, & a carnival. Good times in a small town.
Several candidates for local & state offices gathering signatures. Had some fun asking them "So .... What have YOU done in the last year to stop tele-marketers from calling my number on the Do Not Call list ???" [Big Grin]
Scored on a couple of boxes of .41 Mag. Get 'em while you can. Until my shoulder gets fixed and I can shoot my bow again I think that I'll be hunting coyotes with the Big Iron wheel gun.
The weather was good and the Sarsaparilla was cold.

KO KO, why don’t you handload 41Mag? I have no intent to knock a man’s guns, but. I happen to own a Ruger Redhawk chambered in 44Remington Magnum. I also own a Ruger 357Mag. but anyway my 44Mag is the smoothest shooting handgun I own. I never quite figured out a reason for the 41Mag.? I bought mine used and whoever owned it before me must have had some trigger work done because it’s super nice, just a pleasure to shoot full house loads, and it’s more accurate than I am, to be truthful.

As far as the 357Mag is concerned. It was my Dad’s and my mother gifted it to me when he passed away. I don’t know what the hell it is, I’ve seen several Ruger models but this one says it’s a police model of some kind, but it just doesn’t fit with what I have seen? I don’t know what it is called a GP101 or something like that? I believe there are two Ruger 357’s but the one I have doesn’t seem related to either one and it tends to bug me a little bit. All I can say is that it’s some kind of police model, it has a groove rear sight. I’d kind of like to classify what I have, but it just doesn’t fit with either model that I am aware of. So, why the hell don’t I just research the damned thing and quit crying about it? Yeah, I should do that!

Meanwhile, what I intended to say is the 41Mag is neither fish nor fowl. I guess it fills a space between the 44 and 357, so that’s okay with me. Glad you like it! But that’s the problem, it’s close to obsolete as far as availability of factory cartridges. You can get 357 and 44Special and 44Mag just about anywhere, but lucky to find 41Mag. In fact I don’t ever remember seeing it on a shelf, so if you scored, that was kinda lucky! And what about cost, is it a bit speedy?

Anyway,
Good hunting. El Bee

The main reason I don't handload is simply that I'm at heart an archery guy and rarely make things go Bang. I can vaguely remember the last time I shot a gun but can't remember why.
Now, if you want to talk building arrows ...........

The .41 Mag. was designed to have close to .44 Mag performance with closer to .357 Mag. recoil. I think that it would be a lot more popular if not for the Dirty Harry .44 Magnum hype.
I do believe that confidence in one's hand cannon is more important than nit-picking over a thousandths or three bullet diameter.
