Hey El Bee;
I'm sure that you're already on top of this but I'm seeing quakes in the Inland Empire.
Good time to rant on earthquake preparedness.
Little things like a wrench next to the gas meter to shut it off if necessary.
Canned foods for people & pets. Strap down the water heater and have extra flex fittings for the lines. Basic camping stuff plus batteries.

Remember; When it gets paleo-lithic and the WI-Fi's down the Yuppies gonna need us Rednecks & Hillbillies (Mountain Americans) more than we need them. [Big Grin]

Yes, great advice! The one about turning off your gas valve; I have heard repeatedly that it’s great, if your line is fractured. Otherwise, many regret turning off the gas and when they go to turn it back on after it’s safe, it won’t work any more. Why? Not sure, but I have heard this repeatedly.

No shaking around here, so far?

Good hunting. El Bee

I would guess that either the valve could benefit from a squirt of penetrating oil now & then so that it works smoothly when it is needed.
The other possibility could be that after being off for a period of time the line into the house just needs to be bled and pilots relit.

After the Northridge quake I had a freezer about half full of game meat and half full of block & cube ice that I had made. Three days later when we got power I still had good meat. Keep the freezer(s) full of ice and at the very least you'll have good drinking water when it finally melts in the refrigerator.

BTW; After a big quake your phone will likely not work. Either damage to the system or totally overloaded.

Edit 4 speling. [Razz]

Not kidding! Monsoons and the flash lightning are so cool it hurts! I love it! Especially when out in the bush. It's monumental, and that's an inadequate word.

Good hunting. El Bee🤒🦹‍♂️🦡🦀💥🪐❄️🥌🏹🎭🪇🚀🏕️⛩️📲 ;

Years ago .......... Driving across Northern Arizona ......... late at night, thru a lightening storm with a radio station on coming off of the Navaho Res. Lots of flute, drums and a language that can only be described as 'liquid silver'.
No concert could ever match that performance. [Cool] Awesome beyond words.

I’m sure that you are right. But the most awsomest displays I have ever witnessed was on the Papago’s southern border, the display coming out of Mexico. Seemed virtually spiritual.Kind of a “oneness” with a higher power. Know what I mean….Vernon?

Good hunting. El Bee
