Topic: Here is pleasant diversion for dirty old men!

I. have done a bit of sailing. I have visited the Bahamas and the Caribbean. I as a young man did a lot of snorkling and spearfishing. I’ve dived in tropical Mexico, the Virgin Islands, and of course, the Hawaiian islands, most of them, at least.
But for several days I have been watching this girls videos because I am attracted to sailing and understand the challenges. In fact, this dirty old man could watch this girl swimming and free diving for hours, and I have.
I admire her adventurist spirit. She is making money with her You Tube videos, people are quite willing to give her money and she makes money off of ads, etc.
This is just one of about 8 or 10 that I have looked at. Would I do it? At one time, I had a crossroads, be a surfer bum on a tramp steamer….or join the Army and escape certain family pressures; and the rest is history.

edit: well, this clip isn’t the spearfishing in a uninhabited Carribean island. In fact I have not watched it, and so far it’s cleaning and boat maintenance.
But basically, she is mid 20’s, somehow bought this boat, and it’s a “Liveaboard” as her home. It’s a 50 sloop rigged sailing yaght, It’s a lot to handle, I’ve tried it, not quite that big, but she definately knows a lot more than I do. I actually worked for a marine supply outfit, so I’m not totally ignorant….and my parents were both registered Coast Guard rated Able bodied and lived aboard for many years. Put it this way, you gotta love it, and there is much to recommend.

I found a good clip of her with friends going to a remote and unexplored island. It’s a good visual for the Caribbean, in general. I don’t know exactly where this is, but it’s all perfect, from the Bahamas to the Virgin Islands to Porto Rico, which is sprisingly nice and tropical, to Trinidad Tobago and aruba and Jamica.
It’s unbelievable down there. The water is almost always 81 degrees and the blue color of the water is unbelievable. I can’t find anything of her freediving, but she has a body to die for. If you like the slim look, as I do (Karen, who died on me was a 6 footer with exactly that kind of body)
Anyway, everybody deserves to visit the Caribbean one day. It’s so much better that tropical Mexico and Hawaii. However, Hawaii is in the United States and that is a huge plus. Therefore, I reccomend the US Virgin Islands, Charlotte Amalle is a shopper’s paradise!
