Thought I'd stick my head in the door and see how things are going here. Wow! This place isn't exactly thriving, now is it?
First topic I read and I discover that I'm still living rent free in Tim's head. It takes a special kind of sorry individual to be the spineless sort who makes it a practice to disparage someone in their absence. Never miss a chance, do ya Bud?
This is directly to you, Tim: Get out while Leonard still has a board to enjoy. This used to be a thriving predator hunting community featuring the best of the best - a veritable Who's Who of coyote knowledge. Today, it's a sad little echo chamber where Leonard and Tim comment back and forth. Koko generously chimes in once and a while, but all the others -specifically the ones who pop up from the past - make their presence known then leave again. Ya wanna know why, Tim? It's you, buddy.
Even over at the evil Predator Masters, you're the subject of ridicule and scorn. There's another poor bastard named Tim Anderson who works for Mossy Oak. I'd hate to be that guy. Probably gets hate emails and death threats, called all kinds of nasty names. I saw where the good Tim Anderson was cited in a comment and the thread took off on a tangent about that TA and the "useless knowitall fucking POS bastard 'one'". Everyone knew who they were talking about.
Admit it, Tim. My success as an outdoor writer doesn't bother you nearly as much as the thought that no one cares what you have to say. That you're irrelevant. Always have been. Your legacy will be that everyone mocked you and disliked you. Leonard charitably gave you a place to exists when everyone else had run you out and you've all but destroyed a place that has always been important to him.
At one time, just before I retired from outdoor writing, I was the highest paid and most requested writer at T&PC and not once was any of my material turned down by any of the other magazines. In total, my articles were read and enjoyed by 5 million-plus readers. I still get asked to give presentations and seminars but I often decline. When was the last time you were asked to share your vast knowledge in a public forum? Oh yeah,... never.
How many strategies and concepts in predator calling can you Claiming that you, yourself, were once the best fox caller in MN doesn't count. Not one single person ever acknowledged that or made that statement. Just self-serving little ol' you. LOL
I'll start with two: misting and estrus chirps
Yeah, yeah, you're spinning on your thumb with your hair on fire just dying to once again point out that those were just examples of my making bank off of other peoples' experiences. Then you generalized that many if not most of those same people were ignorant, especially compared to you.
Even Leonard, who has given you this platform to destroy at his expense. Your broad brush remark effectively threw Leonard under that bus.
Ronnie Robison was my source for the estrus chirp article. Both of these men were introduced to me by Rich Higgins who suggested both articles. Arguably knowing more about coyotes than any of us, when's the last time Rich came here/
The estrus chirp story from Ronnie is especially important to me. Because of all the hate I got from the likes of Tim Anderson and the WS guys who accused me of fabricating the entire idea just to swindle readers out of their money. Look at where we are now. Estrus chirps under the title "Breeding Sounds" on every damned high quality e-caller out there because they work.
Again, Tim, you didn't and never have done anything like that

Now I'll log out again. Never be back. Just like everyone else Tim has run off. He's a cancer, Leonard. By letting him have free reign here, you're getting exactly what you asked for.

Well, look who dropped in! How’s the world been treating you, Lance? I know you have had a few family problems. Hope things are looking up, these days. How has retired life been treating you?
I’m not sure what caused you to share your opinions? Did Tim use your name in vain, or something? As far as Tim Anderson, the Legend goes, I responded to a couple requests, and banned him for what must have been close to ten years?
So, during that time, believe it or not, Tim became my number one PEN PAL! E Mail. So, as we all know, he enjoys expressing himself and so I brought him back; and why not? Let him share his adventures with the Peanut Gallery and who really cares?
But, thanks for letting us know about your opinions, and rest assured, they are appreciated and duly noted.
We are doing okay, appreciate your concern, nonetheless less.
I will share one little fact, there has been very little negative feed back. Maybe the viewers aren’t sharing their concerns with me? It’s possible? Whatever, things are fairly quiet on the home front. I really don’t know what else I can do?
Tim manages to keep on my good side so he’s a member in good standing. We get folks dropping from time to time, and very few cat fights. So thanks for dropping in, Lance. And, your concerns are duly noted and again, thanks for sharing your views.
Good hunting. El Bee
PS Tim’s free to say what’s on his mind. He has stayed in hie lane, more or less. I don’t have a problem with him, Seriously. [ March 18, 2025, 05:16 PM: Message edited by: Leonard ]

Thanks Leonard I do appreciate that.
First off, I think I'm grown up enough not to carry a grudge and I really don't, but others tend to carry a grudge for rest of their life over nothing. Just right it off as having fun with the boys I guess.
I'll be honest Lance I do not think about you much but once in a while you come to mind and hey, I like to rub little salt in your wounds, and don't do it out of hate.
Still some dam nice callers still around that have even been posting lately and I even hunted with one of them few times. Sure many left this board but I don't think i had a whole lot to do with many of them, some little thinned skinned or hurt little pride or just got bored with all of it. But hey I'll take the blame if it makes you happy. I liked Cal and thought he was pretty good guy he just couldn't handle how I worded things. Coyote goes into the ground he calls it a hole which is fine with me but when a coyote is using same hole for a den as well then, it's a den and always will be till coyote dies. Cal also went chewed my ass for cutting open a coyote to check for scares and Scott H. as well for explaining it all to me about counting scares. But then Cal goes on some pod cast and says the same thing he chewed me out for. Does that make any sense? And at one point in pod cast Cal admits coyotes don't always behave same everywhere. Bingo I finely got it right.
Rich H, Yeah he knows alot about coyote studies and coyote behavior around his area not saying otherwise. In one of Rich Higgens writings he talks about how long does it take for a coyote to come into a stand and will they show up at a later time? He went on to say yes coyotes can come into a stand as long as 8-12 hours later. This info did not come from his experience or some study he got the info from me because I lived it. and told him about what I have seen firsthand over and over. (my study)
Years ago I hunted with Scott H. to see if he had anything for me to learn. First lesson always locate! Second lesson. We walked about a mile into a big pasture to call and thought to myself aah good exercise but why we walking in so far? are we not supposed to call them back to us? Well we made a stand and nothing showed. Next day I'm with Scott and we both work as ground crew as spotters for the plane. The plane first flew in pasture we called in. coyotes up on first pass next to the road by a old, abandoned farmhouse. Next pasture flown pair of coyotes up in front of plane once again bedded up close to the road. Next day we go hunt with young friend of Scotts and make a stand just before dark. Drove in through a gate and parked truck and walked over a hill and called a coyote in less than 1/4 mile from the road. Do you or anyone else see a pattern here. Scott didn't and I don't hold anything against him for it either he just missed something is all but that happens when people get tunnel vision or Brain lock. Anyway, I figured it out so im up on my Res, I like to hunt and call in and kill bunch of coyotes that was bedded close to a road, Randy Roede gave me bad time about it but I told him why not call it if the coyotes are already there, makes no sense otherwise. I liked Randy but after I got to know him, he liked to be in the center of attention, fine. Everyone has their little dings, no big deal.
The thing I'm getting at is I'm not the type of guy that's going around trying get info from others, I rather go figure it out on my own that way I owe no credit for my success. I'm not the best but hey I manage to do pretty dam good on my own and that's good enough for me.
Predator Masters? Yeah when they took up new management, I tried to get in. But DAA stills has hurt feelings so no P.M. for me. And some of the other old members still have a hard on because I proved them wrong over and over about coyote behavior and what not so now, they hold a grudge because I made them look bad. Another reason not liked there is because I use a WT caller, F.P. and its Pro staffers don't like it one bit. Even caught F.P. using a pirated rabbit scream by Ed Scerry and they had to call him and apologize and then remove sound from there call lists. But yeah I'm the bad guy. I hate crooks and pro-staffers..
Only hate mail I ever got Lance was from you and threats as well, nothing otherwise. Yeah P.M. has a lot of hate there because I proved many that posted there were idiots. still are. Your success as a writer no it doesn't bother me, just wish you could write about your experiences and not someone else's. Example I had experience calling over dead cattle or around road killed deer that was being fed on by coyotes and how to go about it. you asked for some of my nice pictures because you had none of your own to use or experience for that matter. So then you wrote what little you knew and then got two buddies that just hunt over bait help you out and the article changed from calling over carcass to shooting over bait. And then you couldn't even give me a byline for my photos, thus claiming them as your own. Something a low-down skunk would do. LOL
I don't care how much money you made writing articles and only reason you wrote for them because they had no one else to do it so your job was just based off of that they had no one else.
I checked into them, and you know I could of snatched your job write out from under you. Why i didn't was because they had to many rules that pertained to sponsors and you couldn't correct others for their stupidity as far as calling coyotes goes or misinformation. Material turned down? like said you was only one writing for them mostly.
Years ago I was asked by Varmint hunter to do a open talk on predator calling but weather didn't agree with schedule so it never happen. no worries.
Other than just a hand full of people that's all i ever called with as I prefer to do it alone, less mistakes that way and no hurt feelings.
You best take a good hard look, Leonard is driving the bus, it's his board and his rules. Sometimes I don't agree but I try not to push it.
Rich is butt hurt for many reasons but I'll take the blame ok?
Estrus chirp??? Ronnie saw two coyotes fucking and making a chirp sound, cool. One night I was calling in the long grass and had a pair of coyotes on their way in, both coming from the south but 300 yards apart and they chirp as they came off and on. Where my coyotes also fucking on the way in 300 yards apart from each other?? One of my dogs has a coyote in a brush pile or even a coon but just can't quit reach it and the dog chirps. Is it fucking a ghost or something?? German short hair has a crippled pheasant on the ground but can't catch up to it at first but makes a chirp sound, is it fucking the bird??
I bought the Lucky duck caller with 2-3 estrus chirps on it and tried that sound for a whole season and only had one coyote come into that sound but I had to use a lone howl to first get coyote close enough to hear dam chirp. Ok great it worked I'm happy for Ronnie. Next stand have a triple coming in slow so I turn on the Estrus chirp to keep them coming, bam soon as I played the sound, they did a 360 and just took off. Few stands later have a pair coming in after giving a lone howl and they check up a ways out so I hit the estrus chirp to get them going. Both turned around and went back in direction they came from. Have better luck with Vole mouse. If you believe in it then keep using it as I'm done, i seen firsthand what it does and don't have to ask anyone on how well the sounds works or don't work. One thing i learned about new sounds, it's just a money trap and nothing more. All the sounds coming out these days are just a spin-off of what WT has always had for 20 years, nothing knew but perhaps little different.
New callers are hungry for new sounds all the time because they just have not figured the game out so yeah, it's just a money game and someone will buy them and then they find out oh shit I got fucked. LOL
Lance you worry too much about what others think, on other hand I don't. And hey keep your door open I might be passing through your area soon on another adventure if things work out.. God bless your warped little mind.

Oh I forgot two things. As far as followers or people who read what's written I did have a following at one time on another board. (dog forum) There were many members there who no longer could hunt and run their dogs but enjoyed stories of my actual hunts as they brought back many memories for them, you might say I gave them a reason to get up out of bed in the morning. and even had small following from younger guys looking to get into it as well. Questions on medical issues with their dogs also. How to pick a blood line and so on. Owner of that board father died and so he lost interest in having it. Anything i wrote was actual experience of mine and any medial or breeding related credit was always given to my mentor. Also, during your rant, you failed to open your eyes as there still are great coyote callers here that post on Leonard's and yes, we have our differences, but we are still here. To be good or great you have to put the work in and not rely on your buddies to do it all for you, then you just coasting along or just a wanna be. Just because you know someone that's a great shot or caller or good at reloading for that matter does not mean you are great at anything, just a follower. And another thing shame on you for dragging Koko and Leonard and the members into your little Rant. They done nothing to you and some even like you so why make enemies. I have no problem with you posting here again long as you don't try to piss on my new boots. I allow a little dribble from time to time but it's not their fault their plumbing is week.

Koko my sister had a stent done on her as well. Had a blood clot from side of her neck down to her elbow and they removed that and put a stent in somewhere. She also diagnosed with cancer so day after having blood clot removed, she road in a van to Myrtle beach to meet her son when he reached port. (son is a air/sea rescue medic but taking care or people hurt in one of the wars going on over sea's)
Sounds like they got you all tuned up Vic. ![[Smile]](smile.gif) [ March 21, 2025, 06:09 AM: Message edited by: TA17Rem ]

I had the angeiogram but they used my arm instead of the groin. I have a bruise on my wrist the size of a tennis ball. The doctor, name was Dr Thompson came to see me afterwards. I didn’t see him at all during the procedure as I guess I was suddenly out like a light.
Anyway, he said; You called it! Meaning, I didn’t believe there was anything wrong with my heart. So, he said the results were: CLEAR, (that’s the word he used) no stints installed, no blockages whatsoever and he said I will not be having a heart attack anytime soon. That, plus I still have all my hair and I’m doing very well at 82.
Well, fine. It’s not because of my diet, I don’t eat healthy, as a habit, I eat what I want, but it’s not low fat or anything like that. So, it must be hereditary? My dad acquired an infection in the hospital while having a transfusion, temperature went up to 105 and basically fried his brain. Total irresponsiblity on the part of the hospital but you will never win a suit against a hospital at age 72. Even when they pulled the plug on the respirator his heart was strong and he didn’t die for over an hour. Indications were he had a strong heart. But he had a blood disease, the reason for the transfusions.
My mother had rumatic fever as a child and had a weak heart because of it. She died on the operating table during a bypass procedure. Age 76. So, I don’t know what to make of these events, I guess I’m fortunate? Was going to say lucky, but fortunate sounds better. That’s all I know, right now but they did order a CT scan, I need to call for an appointment, Apparently I haven’t had one since 2017?
Good hunting. El Bee
Edit: I was told at Kaiser, that they use the wrist for 75% of their procedures, currently. As far as I know, they do 3 angiograms every day? [ March 21, 2025, 02:48 PM: Message edited by: Leonard ]

They had cautioned me that I should plan on staying at the hospital all day including all night. It’s because if they find a serious problem, you go right into heart surgery, so be prepared for any eventuality. As it happened they released me early afternoon, as I was the #3 patient, but one before me canceled. It’s a well oiled event every day. There is other stuff going on, it’s a big facility, but they schedule 3 angiograms every day. 6, 6:30, and 8;30 and I was the 8:30 patient but I was released first. Because, I didn’t have any problems that needed attention. It feels good to have what I would consider a clean bill of health. I still could get shot in the back by a jealous husband, if I’m lucky. So, that’s it on the health front, nothing dramatic to report.
Good hunting. El Bee
Edit: they gave me a cognitive test today. Ask a bunch of stupid questions, and he said I passed. For instance, they ask you to draw the hands of a clock showing 11:10; draw where the hands should be. Also a bunch of evaluation questions: how do you feel about basic everyday things. I started out, insulted but then thought it was amusing. LB That’s what to expect when you get old. [ March 21, 2025, 03:19 PM: Message edited by: Leonard ]

This is probably none of my business but… I have a few things to say.
It has been over 32 years now. When I first started out helping with the predators here on the farm, I didn’t know Jack! I started searching on the google machine and came across a place where Good Ole Pantyhose Danny B welcomed me into the fold. At first I knew it was a fishing expedition on his part but he eventually took me serious. Best advice from him was… where a pair of Leggs Silk Pantyhose. He said they are the best for keeping me warm and insulated without the bulk! Lmao So I settled for a pair of Pure Silk Long John’s!!! He was right! His connection led me onto to others and other forums.
Then came Huntmasters and Leonard. I was almost terrified of this man. His knowledge was so intimidating to someone like me who was searching for information of these coyotes that I was chasing here on the farm. But I tried to keep my head low and just absorb all of his knowledge that I could. Thank Gawd I followed what my Daddy always taught me. I learned so much! I think the camp out will go down as the Most Treasured hunt of all times!!!
By being here and other forums, I got to know Ronnie Robison. I will be forever grateful for my time spent hunting with him and spending time staying at his place with him and his wife. Him telling me so much great information and listening to his stories and seeing his shop where he developed these calls for Lohman and MADD. His advice he gave me was… Make Them Pay For the Wind.
Of course there is Rich “Professor Higgins” which I call him. We have had many of conversations of the east versus West coyotes. In depth so many times. What a wealth of knowledge he taught me. I feel sometimes that I should have been paying tuition to him at times. A line he once told me, which I still use in my seminars and give credit to is… There is only one guarantee in coyote hunting, Coyotes Do Not Den Underwater!!! Lmao THAT still gets the audience laughing!
More Greats, in my humble opinion are Lance, Jay, Tim, and Vic( man o man can that man shoot), Gerald( showing his poop study at the camp out), Baaaaaaaaron South(the jokes played on him), KoKo and sooooo many more of you that have fed me knowledge and welcomed me into I this fold! I guess what I am getting at is nit picking and feuds are just a waste of your body, mind and spirit. Give credit where credit is due, and if it is not given, just make a note of that and move on. I have been the subject of false accusations, mis quotes and death threats. Oh well, guess they missed because I am still ticking!
But know this, each and everyone of you that I have mentioned have brought so much to my knowledge and heart that I will never be able to express my gratitude for! I Truly Thank You for it! Just know that your names are still being mentioned in one way or another all the way back East here in my seminars. Life is too short guys. Shake it off and go lay down some fur. Remember the good times. Reconnect if at all possible but if you can’t then that’s ok too.
One last line that one of you gave me which by the way has been used over and over again since I was told this is… We Are Part Time Hunters Hunting a Full Time Hunter.
Leonard, I am so Happy of your clean Bill Of Health!!!! I just got back here… I need you to stick around!

Edit: For Crow woman. You mentioned Danny Batistini. Did you know that I went to high school with him? Those that know me should find this amusing. WATER! Why does everybody want, and sometimes insist that I drink WATER?
For the last time, I hate water! I take about 20 various pills and capsules every day and I take with orange juice. I admit to using bottled water in my Keurig machine, but plain old water, I try to avoid as much as possible. Yes, I understand that this is somewhat unusual, but it is what it is. (Finally found a use for that expression)

Gotta agree !!! I see people all of the time that can't walk across a Super Center without a bottle of water in their hand. The stuff's kinda bland tasting in my opinion. Now, a couple of pots of strong coffee a day in the winter and a gallon of sweet tea with a hint of mint a day in the summertime, that's different. Good stuff !!! ![[Cool]](cool.gif)

Awww ElBee… I had no idea that you and Danny went to school together!! You do have that intimidating aspect coming from you, but I know now that it is confidence in yourself and knowledge. I admire that very much! Though I would have never seen you as a boxer, it all makes sense now! I sure do miss those many phone calls from Danny talking endlessly about coyotes. Him wanting to know about mine and me wanting to pick his brain about his. Good times… Great Memories!

KoKo… I am almost like you… Everyday, winter or summer I start my day off with a pot of coffee, then switch to my sweet tea, Half regular tea and half mint tea and a heaping helping of sweetness mixed in! Some days I will even throw in a bottle of Smart Water. That is the only water I can drink because of the low acid. Lol

Interesting read. This thread started out as a dust up and ended in a love fest. Nice. As for me I enjoy reading what Tim has to say and Lance and Vic and Leonard (of course) and KoKo and... well, you get the idea. I read a lot and post little. This board doesn't require log-in to read so I usually just drive by. Besides, I know less about coyotes than anyone on this board past or present so I can't add anything the members don't already know.
I occasionally visit Champion's board but it has a lot less activity than years past. I was banned twice from PMS by the toad so never go there. Age wise I'm not far behind Leonard and am not up to the keyboard commando stuff anymore. But I enjoy reading what the peanut gallery has to say. So I hope Leonard can keep this board going a while longer.

Well, yes. In fact Go Daddy was just compensated $ so the door’s still open. But, love fest sounds like girlie stuff? Whatever.

Edit: You know, Victor, there must be a reason for all your testing and procedures. As for me, I had a couple of odd sensations, also puzzling and so…I called the help line staffed with a registered nurse. Well, since I had little experience, no “indigestion” issues or other descriptive phrases to lean on, I tried to get some insight. Well, she went full Liberal and advised that I get my ass to EMERGENCY-PRONTO! I thought that was a bit sissy and before I hung up I said I’d at least think about scheduling an office visit with my primary care physician. And, so I did. He also immediately gave me an EKG, shrugged, and gave me an appointment with a cardiologist. He didn’t see anything, but let’s error on the side of caution.
I saw the specialist and he was also concerned, and I couldn’t articulate exactly what “chest pain” or “pressure” is, or what it feels like, I’m still bewildered. The specialist that did the angiogram Assured me that my heart is fine, but I’m still scheduled for a CT scan in a couple weeks.
It’s like when OJ is declared not guilty, I must assume that the LAPD has been working that double homicide ever since, looking for the real killer. So, I’d still like to know why I felt the same odd sensation about four times within the past two months. Maybe, suddenly I have indigestion? I have another appointment with the cardiologist, the CT scan is on a Saturday before my appointment and after that, I need another office visit with my primary care doctor who will sort it out, I’m sure.
Now, just between y’all and me, I kinda wish I’d not mentioned anything, to anybody! I don’t want to be accused of being whatever it’s called, the/a person with imaginary illnesses? Ya know what I mean?
