We got ours Saturday and over night. 5" of fresh snow.
-4 so far this morning.
Just found one our fancy out side faucets has broke. Have to wait for it to thaw then replace it.

Was that a frost free faucet ? EW

The best, most reliable solution is heat trace if you have an uninterruptible power source. One little oversight is all it takes.
Same goes for Paul, if you put out water for the critters, you have to keep it from freezing. Looks like it's going to get down to 18* tonight.
Yes, I keep Ash Fork weather handy, and Yucca Valley and even Honolulu in case we ever get off this LOCKDOWN!

Should get some much needed rain tomorrow then it's supposed to get colder than Pelosi's evil heart.

How about a ramp? Better yet, dig it below grade, and put a nice flat rock for an island so the babies don't drown. Bring it up to OSHA standards. A couple cabanas wouldn't hurt in case they want to lounge after a brisk dip.
Go ahead and work on those while I think of a few more! A little help: is this primarily bunnies or do you take care of the quail, also?

It's a Woodford Model 22 hot/cold tap on south side of house into the garage and hot water heater.
Just looked them up. $96 to replace.

Will the sun is on the faucet and has thawed out. Tightened down the handles and has seem to have stopped. Ordered repair parts just in case.
A whole whopping 15* out but in the sun on the south side water is dripping off the roof. Crazy.

Gotcha I had a frost free that would not quit dripping right in front of the house, that was the rough winter four years ago. I had 30" of settled snow and cold as hell, no way I could get it dug up.
Finally screwed around adjusting it and got the leak stopped. It kept cycling my well pump every five minutes or so ? was driving me nuts !!

Have 2 digital thermometers one at chest height and one on top of a building.
Chest high thermometer is saying -10 and the roof top is saying -8.
I think Dave A I'll keep my cold over your fog.
Been watching the webcams for down there and I'm depressed just looking at that crap.
Clear bone chilling crystal deep blue skies up here, moon as big and bright as it come right now.

Meanwhile, here in Heathen vile, it's currently 46* with a forecast high of 57*. Not exactly shirtsleeves, but manageable. Rained all day yesterday, clear skies now, sun's up. Tillie doesn't mind for shit! Who's in charge around here anyways?

It's 59 right now, here. Beat the forecast by 2 degrees.
News is kinda slow, today. Best I can do.

Looks like AZ has missed the rain again looking at the radar this morning.
Looking like we're going to get snow today and tonight. Then get more. We need it for next summer water and no big forest fires.
Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on December 30, 2020, 06:08 AM:
AZ missed our rain? How'd that happen?
Posted by Paul Melching (Member # 885) on December 30, 2020, 06:25 AM:

Welp, we got a hell of a good soaking! Too bad about there was nothing left except four minutes of snowflakes. Maybe next time?
Are you still having water delivered or did you drill a well? I mean, it looks like you're like a permanent homestead?
edit: also, but just thinking of the previous property, do you think what you have and are setting down roots is a better place, over all? I mean, that place on the south side had some possibilities, all things considered.
