This is the biggest bull moose to show up on camera at camp this year. There are a few smaller bulls and some cows and cows with calves in the area too.

Nice bull.
I put in for a cow hunt didn't get drawn probably never will.

I've yet to see a bull up here. Seen a far amount of cows and calves.

Would love to hunt one.

Unless you have a dependable support team with strong backs to pack a lot of dead weight, be careful what you wish for ...............

This hunt is usually a nuisance hunt. Cow/calf in the yard causing some problems.
No worse (only bigger) than an elk hunt here when you mess up and shoot the elk over the one big ridge you shouldn't have.
So far haven't done that.

[Big Grin]

A guy that I know told me that when he moved to Alaska he asked about hunting moose. Said that he was told "First, you plant a garden".

No moose hunting here according to the law. There was supposed to be a moose hunting season after the herd reached a certain size. Then the wolves were turned loose. End result, no moose hunting season.
