Of course, it helps to be in a good guy zone, like Oklahoma. In my state, you may wish you had just run out the door with the rest of the Liberals.

We are getting all the political ads on TV, now. They usually say something about how the candidate is fighting the NRA for gun control.

Good hunting. El Bee

I have no doubt that in Calif. the 'good guy' would be charged with a number of firearm related offenses. And a fund would be set up for the 'victim' bad guy's family.
In Okla. they'll probably name a City Park after him.

Ok...…..I'm putting a 90 day moratorium on telling Okie jokes.

What I find amusing of the TV ads in The People's Republik; they never bother to mention the candidate's political party affiliation? Because, the whole damned legislature is Commie Pinko Liberal Democrat.

I need to get the fuck out of Dodge!

So..........Now the democrats have two things to run on;
(1) Impeach Trump.
and
(2) Fight the N.R.A.

J.F.K. must be weeping in his grave over what they've done to his party.

Be that as it may, in my first presidential election, my vote was for Barry Goldwater....because, in your heart, you know he's right.

I can proudly say that I HAVE NEVER VOTED FOR A FUCKING DEMOCRAT, EVER!

Black people vote (like) 98% for Democrats, and they have responded by keeping them in poverty and on food stamps for 50 years, and counting. How's that for loyalty?

Good hunting. El Bee

edit: however, Union Leadership contributes millions of dollars to Democrat candidates while union members increasingly vote for Republicans. How's that working out for them?

That union issue is everywhere. I'm union, National Association of Letter Carriers Local 489. Not something I boast about often, but you have to work under postal management to understand the need. They'd have killed me off or left me crippled long ago if it weren't for that big dog I have sitting on the porch called "my union steward". It turns my stomach to see all the pro-lib, pro-dem bullshit they publish in the union rag of a magazine, but at least my union isn't allowed to donate money to campaigns. The stumping is bad enough. If there were money actually involved, I'd have bailed years ago. If I can make it, I've got two years and change to go to retirement before I have to find some other way to make bank. My knees and feet hurt so bad now that I look like a new born foal every morning when I first roll out of the rack staggering and struggling to walk. Once both knees pop audibly and the bones realign, I'm good to go but those stairs hurt like a bitch, up or down. Somewhere on the horizon, I see stem cell therapy, total knees, or a wheelchair. In the meantime, the union keeps them from fucking with me too much. That's the only reason they know my name.

When you consider that Airline Pilots have a Union and there is something called the Screen Actors Guild, and various professional people have banded together for mutual assistance and protection....I do not condemn unions out of hand. But, there is something very wrong with the leadership of most of the prominent ones that come to mind.

And there is something about that right to work stuff that doesn't work. (in my opinion)

The formative years, in the 20's and 30's, the union movement was responsible for child labor laws and that 40 hour work week and a few other progressive ideas that big business would not have volunteered, without pressures. I'm not all knowed up on the Labor movement but I do know that as Lance indicated, sometimes, there is nothing between you and being crushed by big brother besides that union that you grudgingly pay your dues to. Not guaranteed and not always, and nobody else ever gives a shit, but once in a while, a union has helped some poor loyal schmuck, from being fucked over by his employer. Then again, sometimes they work to help someone that does not deserve it. Nothing is perfect.

Anyway, I don't dump on Unions out of hand although they deserve 90% of the abuse and the negative opinions of people that have little direct knowledge of what's involved.

Good hunting. El Bee

PS I guess what I mean is that there are a few unions that don't deserve to be lumped in with the crooked ones.

Bear in mind, too, that scum tends to rise to the top.
At the local level where the shop steward works with and looks out for the guys is a wee bit different than the upper echelon where the union officials wear $1500 suits and fly first class.
