Well said I've always Liked Rinella !
Common sense will likely never return to the polarized political landscape !

As far as I'm concerned, plain language was in short supply in that clip. I guess, if I squinted just right, I could follow along. Meh
Anyway, this is where we're at, every year, every week, and every day, we lose ground to compromises with dishonest people that have nothing, (zero) to lose. The word "fair" should be a huge danger sign. It's just human nature to want to get along with people that have a different attitude, or another opinion.
Maybe if we look at it this way, agreeably negotiate with a Liberal group concerning the status and the balance of your personal bank account. Any way you look at it, Liberals are going to gain access to your personal funds when you "compromise" and you are going to lose.
Our gun rights and our hunting and fishing freedoms will be less, this time next year than they are right now, thanks to our willingness to compromise with these bastards that have nothing to lose.
This is why our little defunct organization never gave in on lions. It's just a one year moratorium, just to find out how few are left and what we can do to save this critically endangered, (and, by the way) magnificent creature.
Now, killing and eating a few humans is a small price to pay. That's how compromise leaves us with a full bag of nothing.
If we ever learn from our mistakes, it's already too late to reinstate lost freedoms. One day, you won't be allowed to get off the road at Yosemite, except in designated pullouts and watched by three Park Rangers eager and willing to cite you for bending a blade of grass. Am I glad I won't be around to see the world we all leave to my grandchildren. But, Hey! They will be safe as all get out!
It's not coming, friends. It's already here!
Good hunting. El Bee

Yes, like reasoning with a tiger when your head is in its mouth.

I've never heard of the guy in the clip, but I don't get out much.
It's obvious he doesn't know anything about the area he's talking about either though. So I guess it's okay that I've never heard of him.
BTW... Just a pet peeve of mine that has been growing steadily. But, nobody, as in NOBODY, EVER, called that area "Bears Ears" until Obama did about 18 months ago. Now, EVERYBODY (that has never been there and hasn't any clue about the place) calls it "Bears Ears".
It's like a neon sign. Call it Bears Ears and I KNOW that you couldn't even find it on a map...
I shouldn't let such petty nonsense bother me. But, I hear one more Californian that hasn't ever been there and knows nothing about the place talking about "Bears Ears" and I'm gonna punch somebody in the tit...

Think of it like...
Your favorite place to spend a long weekend. Someplace you have been going back to for decades. And you, and everyone else, has always called the place "Nowhere Mesa". There's a geologic feature nearby called the Clowns Shoes and everyone knows about them, but nobody talks about the Clowns Shoes unless they mean that particular little formation. Cause, the place is called Nowhere Mesa.
A bunch of do-gooders and rich industrial tourism types decide they can make some good money by politicking your favorite weekend get away and closing off access to undesirables such as yourself while at the same time destroying it by encouraging clueless ass hats to come in droves and be guided by rangers and park in big parking lots and build visitors centers and all that bullshit.
But, the name of the place, it isn't catchy, just doesn't make a good commercial, you know? So the slimy money grubbing ass munch fuck wads come up with a new, catchy name for your old favorite haunt. A name NOBODY has ever used for the place. So they call it Clowns Shoes.
And a year and a half later, you can't swing an Anasazi scalp around without hitting some jack ass lecturing anyone that will listen about the dire need to "save the Clowns Shoes". Save it from you, by destroying it, BTW... Going on and on about the Clowns Shoes like they know it soo, well. And you know, just by the fact they call the place the Clowns Shoes, they never been there, they know jack shit, they care not a bit (unless there's money or political gain in it for them...).
Trump ain't no better, on this one, either. And the end result, is just a big shit sandwich for anyone that actually cares about the area. Damage already been done. No effort being made to mitigate it. Plans to profit from further destruction full steam ahead (Trump chipped off a prime slice for the state to despoil and profit from, bill is in the Utah state legislature right now, gonna sail on through, for real...).
Just gets on a fellas nerves, that's all.

'Bamas Ears?

Speaking as a Kalifornian who has been there, let me agree with Dave. I've never heard of Bear's Ears until Barry decreed this place a sanctuary as if it's been known for centuries, maybe longer?
I'd like to be around a hundred years from now and see how history treats Barry. Better than he deserves, I bet?
Good hunting. El Bee
BTW, I can't find Clown's Shoes on the map, either?

I have it!
Ki-Yotey Ears!
BTW... Just because it's an excuse to post pictures and I like pictures... A couple shots of the terrain feature known as Bears Ears, which some marketing exec somewhere decided would make a catchy name for a new NM...

From the other side.
